Massive Fraud and Waste Confirmed in Obamacare Subsidies

Obama’s name in American politics is synonymous with fraud and waste of taxpayer money. His so-called landmark federal healthcare legislation, the Affordable Care Act (ACA) of 2010, represents this reality and continues to throw taxpayer money away to fraudsters. A recent investigation by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) found ongoing massive fraud in Obamacare subsidies, something the Democrats are trying to protect and keep going.

On December 3, the GAO published the findings of its probe under the title “Preliminary Results from Ongoing Review Suggest Fraud Risks in the Advance Premium Tax Credit Persist.” Just the News (December 4) reported on these findings that show $94 million paid to insurers for people that were not even alive. The story wrote:

GAO also found that there were $21 billion in subsidies paid out without evidence of tax reconciliation in 2023.

The story noted that taxpayers pay around $27 billion every year in “improper payments”, i.e. to millions of people improperly enrolled in Obamacare.

On the Thursday (December 4) episode of “National Report” on Newsmax, Republican Congressman Jason Smith of Missouri shared the key points of the GAO investigation that revealed the Obamacare fraud and called it an “unaffordable” program that is full of fraud and waste, something the Democrats want to continue.

In relation to the fraud revealed, the conservative account MAZE on X refreshed the memories of Americans with a montage of video clips showing Barack Obama lying several times about this health bill as he sold it to the American public off his podium.

Since Democrats don’t care about fraud and waste in anything that came from their leadership, they have continued to push for extending these fraud-laden healthcare policies. But this time around, the Senate Republicans stopped them as their extension plan failed to get 60 votes needed to pass the Senate. At the same time, the alternative plan presented by Republicans, and endorsed by President Trump, also failed to get the required 60 votes in a tit-for-tat showdown over healthcare funding.

Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson highlighted the Obamacare subsidies fraud in a press conference and posted to his X page saying No to the Democrats’ effort to extend this system.

With both parties blocking each other vindictively, concerns over affordable healthcare free of fraud and waste remain alive and well while the taxpayers pay into the system with money and health.

Dempsey has fallen off the wagon and he can’t respond.

The thing that struck me about this report is the focus on Biden and Obama, avoiding Trump, who did the same exact thing on his first watch, but more important, these dumb fucks have taken their eye off the ball: HEALTHCARE to focus on killing ObamaCare without a viable althernative. Makes sense given they have a history of not having a clue.

The year is 2015 and Trump announces he can fix healthcare in ONE DAY. KFF noted in 2020: “In his early days on the campaign trail, circa 2015, he said on CNN he would repeal Obamacare and replace it with “something terrific,” and on Sean Hannity’s radio show he said the replacement would be “something great.” Fast-forward to 2020. Trump has promised an Obamacare replacement plan five times so far this year. And the plan is always said to be just a few weeks away.” In the end, Trump had nothing and nothing was done, just like Infrastructure Week that Biden finally fixed. You’re welcome.

Now it’s 2025, Trump has a second time at the healthcare bat and so far: NOTHING but hot air as the guy actually admits: “I’m still thinking.” What, like two decades and he still does not have a clue?

Now there is a PRELIMINARY report indicating that the fraud they found during Obama was not fixed and Republicans ASSURE ObamaCare is fixed, rigged, awful. The fraud they found during Trump 1.0 was not fixed. And the fraud found during Biden was not fixed, although at least during Biden, they tried. What was in Trump 1.0’s wallet to at least try to fix it? Or replace it? The same plan as today: bitch about ObamaCare and do nothing.

The fraud is 1.5% of applications.

The Republican response is to recommend taking down ObamaCare without a replacement. They have no plan, they have some patrial fixes, some half-baked recommendations, and they all suck. Like: “give the money to the people and not the insurance companies so the people can decide.” Decide what, to buy insurance or big screen TV’s? What “choice” NOT to buy insurance are they suggesting: RFK witchdoctors and fake cures? Just fucking brilliant: “we have seen the mob and we wish to give them money.” The funniest part is the amount: $1,500; ObamaCare average is $6,000 so you tell me what insurance you can buy for $1,500? Life insurance for sure. But not health insurance.

The House Republican plan is just as stupid a half-hearted half-cocked plan that solves absolutely nothing. It includes a measure to allow small businesses to band together to buy insurance (a 50% solution even if it works based on where Americans work); new regulations on pharmacy benefit managers (why? We already have Trump RX, isn’t it mission accomplished time), the middlemen who help health plans administer prescription drug benefits; and the restoration of payments to health insurers that President Trump canceled during his first term. (I’m sorry, weren’t Republicans trying to stop paying BIG INSURANCE? WTF is up with this?)

Senate Republican plan is just as stupid and half-assed solution to just a very small portion of the problem.

The straight skinny, some real FACTS: In 2013, pre ObamaCare, US had 16.6% of our citizens uninsured. That means 16.6% might hit ER costing us all big bucks as our insurance basically covers that loss. By 2022, that 16.6% fell to 9.9%. Bear in mind the pre-ObamaCare insured statistic included a huge percentage of underinsured, especially from Southern States. ObamaCare set a higher, lower insurance baseline on basic insurance coverage ending the underinsured. Trump will bring back the concept of underinsured. It’s easy to find these underinsured places pre Obamacare, they are the ones with the huge price increases. Still better than not being insured, but underinsured was replete across the Southern Red States.

Today, after the Biden covid ObamaCare enhance credits, the US has only 7.6% uninsured, our highest level of healthcare coverage ever. A Biden record. A fucking great record. Trump will destroy that.

But pounding my chest and yelling success, is not my point. My point is: HEY STUPID, the credits worked. We have set a record. A good record. Why would you fuck with that, much less destroy it? Why not just FIX IT or replace it? None of the Republican plans or whatever they are, come close.

FYI: we are still 29th in the world for healthcare coverage. That’s because many countries believe healthcare is a basic human right, not a chess piece on the board of politics game and have Universal Coverage. What a great idea. And yes, Virginia, we can financially support it.

I understand we need to fix fraud. But do we really have to throw the baby out with the bathwater? I thought you guys were into saving babies? When ObamaCare came out, I said, “close, but not perfect and will need work.” You guys said: batter, beat, defund, kill, repeal, destroy. We ain’t got a solution, but end ObamaCare because it’s got Obama written all over it and Trump feels emotionally dissed by Obama who constantly shows how dumb Trump is. Should be called Trumb. I blasted Obama for letting up on the improvements to politic for other support from the right (support never came, they even blamed him for extending the Bush tax cuts, hypocrites all). Since the opening of ObamaCare, very little in the way of improvements has occurred even as the program is the most SUCCESSFUL healthcare program Congress has ever voted for since Medicare/aid. PERIOD.

There is fraud. There will always be fraud. Find it, fix it or find a perfect alternative, not these dog’s breakfast of a hodgepodge collection of half-hearted, partial solutions bound to fail. I think the results of the extra credits prove that IF you give people a helping hand, and a little penalty encouragement, they will save themselves, and our pocketbooks to, by getting insurance. We should not throw that baby out for politics and personal, emotional, knotted knickers over a perceived dissing.

ooops, this one meant to be first.

“Massive Fraud and Waste Confirmed in Obamacare Subsidies” claims the shame-game afficionado Earnless Dempsey. This time CONFIRMED means a preliminary report, not court, tried in the press before fact-checking or criticism is broached.

Did Dempsey ask anyone for response, comments, of course not. Did he second source the conclusions or data. Of course not. He plays the blame-game on preliminary results of things that will NEVER get to COURT.

He probably did the same for the Biden impeachment investigation, the Biden crime family investigation, the Hunter hunt, Biden auto pen debacle, Biden classified document reading, weaponization of everything, and more.

Three-hundred-page reports, three or more committees working tirelessly, hearings, all BUSTED and we paid over $40M for their time and effort. Remember the “hundreds of whistleblowers in my office giving depositions?” Turned out to be two or three that crashed n burned during their hearings based on the truth. The “hundreds” disappeared into the woodwork.

Ten’s of millions wasted on their witch hunts with trials held, guilty determined, at FOX NEWS with appeals won on all by fact-checkers.

So here we go again. Big report. Preliminary. Why? They can change it when the truth comes out, or just not produce the final. “Hey, who lost the Biden impeachment report?” The author of this nonpartisan not objective never report: the guy Trump hired to do exactly this. And this is not even his top priority. Fact is his real charter here is to undermine banking safety controls put in post the last financial meltdown on Republican’s watch that almost sunk the nation. But his real top priority is to weaken banking safeties and controls to sneak AI and Crypto in as low risk for our financial systems. And before you get your panties in a wad: yes, G. Bush was not solely at fault for The Great Recession, and yes, G. Bush made the right moves, right away, and even consulting with Obama during the transition. Now there’s a concept Trump can’t fathom —– a peaceful transfer of power. What a concept.

Final report is Spring or Summer of 2026: if it’s summer, you know it’s being corrected.

To get to their goal of destroying our banking security allowing AI and Crypto to be intertwined with our banking awaiting the next bigger, better, crash, they first are destroying the very foundations of the institution of US banking to pave their way for their real end game: less banking controls allowing riskier transactions, especially AI and Crypto. I don’t follow her on much, but trust Elizabeth Warren as the expert on this one, and Katie Porter as a banking whiz in Congress.

That’s what this is really about: this report is just step one in that game.

HOWEVER — who cares. So they found some fraud. This fraud was detected during Obama, Trump, and Biden; attempts were made to fix, but loopholes still exist.

“None of the Republicans making political hay out of this report have co-sponsored that legislation or offered any similar measures,” Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) said in a statement to KFF Health News. Republicans have not advanced or addressed Democratic legislation to fix either; they won’t even discuss and debate, as is their style. Just like folks round here.

According to KFF: “However, the number of policies flagged as potentially compromised by rogue sales agents was far smaller than the estimates of some of the program’s biggest critics. The GAO identified about 160,000 cases in 2024, or 1.5% of the ACA applications. Some conservative analysts have broadly estimated that unauthorized enrollments that year numbered in the millions, a finding that has drawn pushback from groups representing insurers, brokers, and hospitals.”

OK — here’s the bigun: “The GAO report does not quantify how much fraud there is, Bagdoyan said: “What it’s focusing on are indicators of potential fraud.” BWHAAAAT? The focus is on possibilities, not realities? The conclusion is “this might happen but we don’t know how much?” With that I conclude the Earnest broke the law but I don’t know which and how much, but I can prove he broke the law. Whatever.

Republicans desire to kill ObamaCare without a viable replacement over 1.5% of apps being fraudulent. The real reason is that the program is called OBAMAcare and that just cannot stand in Trumpistan.
But none of it matters, because Dempsey and Republicans have their collective heads up their collective asses emotionally fixating on Trump’s retribution and revenge and have lost sight of their jobs: working within Constitutional limits on behalf on the American people. Instend they focus on “get that guy.”

Next: what we should be focusing on: our healthcare system. And step one: shore up and fix ObamaCare. Then suggest your other choices and alternatives.
