In the world of politics, some things are simple. ; To wit: If you campaign for Republicans, you are a Republican. ; If you campaign for Democrats, you are a Democrat. Oh sure … occasionally a person may campaign for a candidate of the opposite party for unique reasons, but that is the exception, not the rule.

That is the reason for the headline. ; Wyoming Congresswoman Liz Cheney is spending every waking moment trying to defeat Republican candidates across the country. ; Her avid mission was initially to boot Trump from the presidency through the impeachment process – and eventually boot him from leadership in the GOP. ; She has stated more than once that she would do whatever it takes to make sure Trump does not return to the Oval Office.

All of that could be viewed as an intra-party feud between her and President Trump. ; Just infighting between factions within the Republican Party. ; That goes on all the time – and in the Democratic Party, too.

When Cheney accepted a seat on Speaker Pelosi’s politicized Select Committee, she essentially had joined the other side. ; She not only was an antagonist to Trump, but she also began to spread her hostile views against the Republican leadership in Congress. She took up the Democrats’ anti-GOP political narratives that were crafted to defeat every Republican in the upcoming midterm elections. ; She even vilified Republican voters. She was singing off the Democrat song sheet.

She did all this while attempting to retain her seat in Congress AS A REPUBLICAN. ; ; Weeell … the voters of Wyoming are not fools. ; The same folks that gave Cheney a 70 percent victory in the 2020 primary election, gave her 28.9 percent support this year – essentially sending her packing after the end of her current term.

And it was the correct decision. ; Not only has Cheney spent the past year working against the entire Republican Party – and against her one-time conservative values – but she is now traveling around the country encouraging voters to vote for Democrats.

Whether she calls herself a Republican or not is inconsequential. ; She campaigns for left-wing Democrats. ; The Wyoming GOP has booted her – and Republican voters have taken away her Republican office.

I feel sorry for former Vice President Dick Cheney. ; He has two daughters. One who has betrayed his longstanding moral and political beliefs – living a life repugnant to everything he stood for all his life. ; The other daughter is a lesbian.

There is a lot of talk about Liz Cheney’s future in politics. ; Another office. ; Maybe a run for President in 2024. ; You can safely bet, however, that any political future will NOT be in the Republican Party.

So, there ‘tis.

Its official (almost) … Cheney is a Democrat
