Ex Panama Border Chief Blames UN for Chaos at the Southern Border

Democrats have been importing illegal aliens across the US-Mexico border and providing them protection within America to change the country’s demographics. But the invasion across the southern border is also the direct result of one globalist organization that conservatives have long condemned for encroaching on their freedoms – the United Nations (UN).

In a recent interview, Panama’s former border security chief Oriel Ortega said that the chaos at America’s southern border is the result of United Nations’ migration agenda. He pointed at the key role of the international non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that are supported by the UN in facilitating illegal migration with the United States as its final destination. Ortega, who now serves as a security and defense consultant to Panamanian President Laurentino Cortizo, was cited by The Epoch Times (February 23, 2024):

“The International Organization for Migration (IOM), the U.N.’s migration arm, is paying for the expansion of camps, including ones near the Darien Gap, one in Lajas Blancas, and another new facility near camp Bajo Chiquito.”

The story also cited Joseph Humire, an expert on unconventional warfare, agreeing with Ortega on the “engineered” nature of migration across the US-Mexico border:

“This isn’t a conspiracy theory… the invasion at the U.S. southern border is strategic engineered migration.”

As head of Panama’s border service Senafront, Oriel Ortega has collaborated with US authorities on checking illegal aliens with focus on the involvement of cross-border criminal gangs in migrant trafficking. In June 2023, Reuters cited Ortega stating that migrant trafficking was being organized on the Colombian side and named what he termed a “narco-terrorist” Clan del Golfo criminal gang.

On Friday (February 23), Ortega sat down with conservative American journalist Ann Vandersteel to answer questions about the impact of illegal migrants in the region.

Last month, Reuters reported on IOM’s new fundraising program for better management of migration. The story wrote that IOM is seeking $7.9 billion in 2024 to “bolster efforts to protect migrants, reduce displacement and expand avenues to migrate legally.”

A number of prominent conservative politicians, including lawmakers, have lately called for defunding the United Nations over the organization’s initiatives that clash with American values. In December 2023, Republican Senator Mike Lee introduced the Disengaging Entirely from the United Nations Debacle (DEFUND) Act to end financial support for UN. Senator Lee was cited slamming the UN:

“No more blank checks for the United Nations. Americans’ hard-earned dollars have been funneled into initiatives that fly in the face of our values — enabling tyrants, betraying allies and spreading bigotry.”
