Computer Identifies Federal Policewoman as January 6 Pipe Bombs Suspect
Blaze Media dropped a bombshell last Saturday in one of the biggest mysteries of January 6, 2021, but the mainstream media have displayed an interesting lack of journalistic curiosity. So what’s going on with the infamous pipe bombs suspect story that has been tucked under the rug for close to five years now?
On Saturday (November 8), investigative reporters Steve Baker and Joseph M. Hanneman of Blaze Media reported that their forensic investigation has identified the suspect who planted pipe bombs near the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and Republican National Committee (RNC) buildings on January 5, 2021. The suspect, a 31-year-old woman, is a former U.S. Capitol police officer named Shauni Kerkhoff.
The source providing Baker and Hanneman with the info used January 6 Capitol Police CCTV security video and an unedited video of the same scene to analyze the suspect’s gait with the help of a computer software specifically used for such analysis. Naming Shauni Kerkhoff as the person that matches the suspect’s gait, the story wrote:
The forensic study, arranged by Blaze News, revealed that Kerkhoff is up to a 98% match to the gait of the pipe-bomb suspect. The findings were confirmed by several current intelligence sources who viewed the study results.
The Blaze story published and a brief career history along with some pictures of Kerkhoff, who worked as a Capitol Police officer for four-and-a-half years. The story also informed readers about Kerkhoff’s departure from her police job in the mid 2021 to join the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), where she continues to work in campus security.
Other details of the story encapsulated the course of the pipe bombs investigation by the federal agencies and the Congress, highlighting how the FBI and ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) repeatedly dodged, stonewalled, and/or slow-walked the probe.
While this investigative report is a major development of national importance, mainstream media has assumed a deafening silence over it. A small number of media platforms, mainly conservative or right-leaning independent sources, picked it up for sharing and discussion. A few sources, like Headline USA, tried to debunk the story of the pipe bombs suspect by questioning the credibility of The Blaze and expressing disapproval of using unnamed sources involved in the gait analysis.
Independent journalist Breanna Morello cited an unnamed source familiar with the investigation to reject the claim that Kerkhoff had a role in placing the pipe bombs and wrote that the FBI may have another suspect that is still under investigation.
Republican Congressman Thomas Massie of KY quickly responded to the story by mentioning his interrogation of the federal agencies during the Congressional investigation of the incident. He blamed the FBI and ATF for covering it up by playing dumb
Conservative podcaster Kyle Seraphin, who is a former FBI agent and whistle blower, took The Blaze story about Shauni Kerkhoff as the pipe bombs suspect as the topic of his show on November 10. As an FBI agent who was on the team probing the pipe bombs case, Seraphin shared important details of the case and questioned the way he was pulled from the case right when he was inches away from busting the suspects involved in the crime. Seraphin called the Blaze investigation report very convincing and questioned the motives of the FBI, doubting that the bureau ever had any real intentions of revealing the truth in this case.
