Will the left get Trump elected president … again?
Politicians, pundits the press, and political science professors have described the 2016 election of President Trump as more of a vote against than for.
Though Trump emerged as the GOP standard bearer, he was not popular with most Republican primary voters. And an unprecedented number of Republicans and conservatives kicked their party affiliation and the political principles to the curb out of a visceral hatred for Trump. He was arguably the most controversial candidate ever nominated by one of the two major political parties.
Heading into the election, Democrats were beaming – confident of electing Hillary Clinton to the presidency. Their confidence was so high that the defeat of Clinton put the Democrat left into traumatic political shock and anger – so much so that they immediately launched a resistance movement and started talking of impeachment even before Trump’s inauguration.
What the Democrats failed to recognize was the unpopularity of their candidate and their programs. Millions of voters – who were not particularly fond of Trump – could not make themselves support the Democrats and their far-left agenda. Many were voting against Clinton more than for Trump. By the way, I was one of those voters.
Biden campaigned as a moderate – more appealing to more voters than such hardcore left-wingers as Senator Bernie Sanders. The fact that Biden jumped so quickly and so far to the left has created a bit of buyers’ remorse – especially among independents. That is a major reason why Biden’s favorability rating has tanked.
Unfortunately, Trump never understood that he was deemed the better of two Hopson choices. He very much needed to grow his base. He did not – and that triggered a reverse dynamic. People who were not particularly fond of the Democrat’s left-wing agenda – or any of the presidential candidates — grew to dislike Trump more than Biden.
Democrats and their media cronies may be setting up another opportunity for Trump to return to the White House by making their candidates and policies more unpopular than any GOP alternatives – maybe even Trump. They may have overplayed their hand in taking their vicious and mendacious attacks beyond Trump and to all things Republican and conservative. They are assassinating the character of millions of Americans.
These unrelenting attacks on not only Trump, but every Republican voter, seems to be creating a backlash. Demonizing millions of Americans as hate-mongers, racists, homophobes and sexists is bound to fuel resentment – a resentment that can be best exercised by punishing Democrats at the polls in 2022.
Make no mistake about it. The news media’s obsession with Trump is a major factor that is keeping him in play for 2024. He is the subject of every news cycle and virtually every program on CNN and MSNBC. They are making him more powerful and influential than he is.
It may be intentional. They may believe that by predicting that he will be the GOP standard bearer in 2024, that can create a self-proving prophesy – in the belief that he would be easy to defeat in 2024.
There are two problems with that thinking. First of all, there is no guarantee that Trump will run … and that he is unbeatable. That is a left-wing fantasy. But no group may be more responsible for the return of Trump than the radical left Democrats and their press parrots – by getting a lot of good Americans really pissed off.
Democrats may have wasted a lot of strategy and energy if Trump is not the candidate in 2024. And I still believe the odds are against Trump running successfully in 2024. His obstacle is more likely to be the nomination than the General Elections.
So, there ‘tis.
Trump is back, and the radical,liberal,progressive,socialist,marxist,dumbocrap commies will have hell to pay, and melt like snowflakes again, and I can’t wait to see it.
What a lot of die-hard Party members don’t realize is that Mr. Trump got into office simply because too many voters on both sides were fed up with both Parties. For the last 50 years, both the Republican and Democrat parties have focused on the wealthy and the corporations, rather than the working class Americans. This is shown by jobs moving overseas, the deregulation of the financial industry, and the wealthiest citizens seeing their holdings of American money increase by over five-fold since 1970. The wealthiest 1% held 8% of the nation’s money in the 1960s, and held 42.5% in 2019, according to the government’s own figures. Working class spending has stagnated or dropped during that time, and inflation has not gone up about nine-fold since 1961, as our government claims, but closer to sixteen-fold. Before 1970, a couple could buy a car, a home, and raise 2.3 children on one income. Now, many of them cannot do that on two incomes. If our so-called financial experts in government could actually do math, they would see this. Housing, medical expenses, and education have all skyrocketed since the ’60s, but those numbers are not taken into consideration when they calculate inflation.
Those are exactly the conditions that Trump/McConnell’s tax cuts for the rich exacerbated, and President Biden is addressing with his infrastructure investment plans.
The commiecrats will destroy themselves
It’s hard to run a campaign from inside a jail cell… but Trump will still find a way to get gullible people to send him money. He’s already doing it – hinting that he’s going to run, because the rules about the money you raise before you officially declare are a lot more lax than after committing. He’s a scam artist, and nothing will change that. But he won’t be President again.
EVERYONE running his campaign got hit with indictments – the only reason Trump didn’t was because he “won” the election, and had a corrupt Attorney General shielding him. New sheriff in town now, folks… stuff will catch up with him eventually. Some of those people that are heading to jail will be eager to snitch on Trump rather than spend the rest of their lives in jail.

Well, Danny Boy, let’s start with tax evasion in New York… Trump had two sets of books, the kind of crime where everyone who knows goes to jail. And there are not more than 10 or so people at the top of Trump Inc. Case still ongoing, and a couple of Trump’s senior team have already been charged. They now have his tax returns, which I’m sure will generate even more charges. This will be the first venue to charge Trump, I think, since it was started while he was still in office. Tax evasion is usually pretty cut-and-dried.
Trump called up officials in Georgia (and othe states) and tried to get them to change the vote count. He was pretty specific, too – “I only need 11,000 votes”… Plus, they got it on tape, and this one is also in progress.
There’s the attempted bribery/extortion of Ukraine. Barr covered it up, but it could still be referred to the current AG for prosecution.
There was collusion with Russians on his 2016 election. Barr also covered this up, but the whole 4th section of the senate report is filled with communications between Trump’s campaign and various members of Putin’s government.
Trump has also comitted dozens of Obstruction offense. They could be referred to the AG if they come up during hearings.
And finally, there’s the Jan 6th attempted coup. Hearings going on now in Congress, and they’ll issue a report and refer crimes to the AG. Trump is now a private citizen and could be asked to testify as well. That would result in instant charges of lying to Congress, as Trump has a little problem telling the truth. And he’s continuing to try to get the election results changed, and directing people not to testify, and issuing threats to people. That’s an avenue ripe with potential charges.
That’s a start. Congress is running hearings on lots of stuff, and could refer other instances of criminal behavior to the AG. For example, it just came out that Trump’s Washington hotel lost $70M instead of having $156M profit as Trump reported. Depending on how and where it was reported, that could also be referred to the AG for criminal prosecution. Or it might be a tax evasion case. `
And at least one of the women he raped is going to court, and could very likely (at the minimum) call Trump to testify – again, see the previous paragraph for likely results of Trump testifying under oath.
Lots of ways it could go down, Danny Boy… But one way or another, Trump will end up in jail. It won’t be easy or fast – they don’t want to charge him with criminal offenses that aren’t iron-clad. But his lies and crimes will be exposed eventually.
Oh heck, the guy is the already known as the unidentified co-conspirator, as documented by Manhattan Federal Prosecutors, in the Michael Cohen case, where there was a crime, Michael Cohen pleaded guilty, and is doing time for using hush money to cover up Trumps extramarital affairs, this time with Karen McDougal and porn star Stormy Daniels. This is where they cheated on campaign financing rules for hundreds of thousands of dollars. As of June 2021, this case is still on hold as the Federal SDNY focuses on Trump businesses, his CFO, and others. Pretty much says that Cohen as chief witness is not the best witness and other salient pieces of evidence are not better.
But you be the judge: were payments made and were they illegal — yes, as proven in court. Did Pre-President Donald J. Trump know what Michael Cohen was doing with Donald J. Trump’s money to cover Donald J. Trump’s political ass from yet another sex scandal like the “grab her by the pussy” utterance he stupidly put on tape.
In his life, Donald J. Trump has skirted jail time a number of times by pleading out to lesser charges.
– Paid out $25,000,000 to thousands of Trump University students that he swindled
– Paid out $2,000,000 for using his charity as a piggy bank; the charity was closed forever
– Settled Fair Housing Act violations against his Brooklyn housing where he had to post vacancies on a bi-weekly basis to the NY Urban League.
They sued him in 1978 for violations to the settlement; he settled again
– Trump paid $750,000 to settle the civil penalties of the antitrust lawsuit charging Trump forced people from their homes
– Settled Taj defamation case out of court, amount undisclosed
– Fined $200,000 for moving black dealers away from racist players
– Paid $30,000 settlement for breaking State gaming rules when his father bought $3,500,000 in chips and trashed them to provide the Don’s cash-strapped casinos with some laundered cash
– Paid $250,00 in fines for skirting state lobbying laws
That’s about 50% of the settlements, fines, and convictions, there’s a whole lot more for a guy who had been skirting laws, cheating, defrauding, people over his entire life. What makes anyone think the Presidency would be different? On Day ONE, he capitalized on his new found Presidential fame and double his fees at Mara Loser. Before Day ONE, he was funneling as much donor dollars as he could into his own businesses for his own profits for his own lifestyle. That grift remains today.
It really isn’t hard to look up this man’s history of grifting starting as a young man faking his way through Wharton College, not Wharton Business as he would have you believe, to being the expert at steaks, golf, hotels, media, water, airfare, and whatever he could fool people into thinking he could deliver and where the final result is usually fines, convictions, and lawsuits.
Yes, the left might be responsible for this man’s elections, but not without the compliance of conservatives holding their nose and praying “they won’t get fooled again.” Spoiler alert: the man has never changed, never been Presidential, and always cheated his suppliers and customers alike. It’s in his genes.
Thanks, Frank. I’ve heard about all those, but didn’t take the time to look them up. And putting both of our lists together, we’re only scratching the surface. Even today, Trump is still pushing on his attempt to overthrow the government… and he’s still pocketing his campaign funds… He may have escaped most of the rape charges, but maybe not… He’s probably still overvaluing his properties to get fresh loans, if anyone will lend to him, so there’s probably bank fraud still going on. And if you include his kids, he’s probably complicit in even more crimes. Congress should be investigating all these things, and pulling him and his demon spawn in once a month to testify.
And I’d argue the point that the “left” got Trump elected. Clinton didn’t inspire a lot of excitement, but she still won the popular vote. And there was a lot of Russian interference in the 2016 election – hopefully Congress will find a reason to review Barr’s interference in the release of the report, and bring up those issues again. Maybe Trump legitimately won the electoral votes, but I’d like to see as much scrutiny on that as he’s put on the 2020 election.

This brings us back to the beginning, what it was always all about: follow the money and you will find Russian Oligarchs bankrolling Donald J. Trump’s empire. Let’s face it, only people with money to burn would invest in golf courses. They need to be assured of t-times and the best tables at the 19th hole, so the investment is worth it. Especially if the investment launders as well.
Following the money is always been the key to this: why Mueller backed off the finances will always bother me. He had a boatload of resources, the best financial prosecutors in the world, access to info, but for some reason never focused or pursued even though a sizeable portion of his resources had financial backgrounds. He didn’t say: “no smoke there,” either.
This guy has always profited by loopholes and outright skirting of rules, regulations, and laws. No reason to ever think that will change.
The very core of your writing while sounding reasonable initially, did not really sit very well with me personally after some time. Somewhere within the sentences you were able to make me a believer unfortunately only for a very short while. I nevertheless have a problem with your leaps in logic and one would do nicely to help fill in all those breaks. In the event that you can accomplish that, I could surely end up being amazed.
