The reopened Hillary Clinton email investigation is a sticky situation, and is becoming ever more complex as new information is revealed.
First, we learned about the widespread disagreement and anger among FBI agents regarding James Comey’s shocking decision to let Hillary off the hook.
Next, internal pressure combined with new information found on a computer used by Clinton aide Huma Abedin and her husband Anthony Weiner convinced Comey to reopen the case.
“Almost 100 agents were threatening Comey that they were going to resign – and that kind of pressure is what turned him around. It wasn’t Comey or his integrity,” said former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-TX). “As far as those FBI agents were concerned, it [the investigation] wasn’t closed.”
Emmy Award-winning journalist Sharyl Attkisson is convinced that Mr. Weiner knew something. She told radio/TV host and political commentator Steve Malzberg that her “commonsense” leads her to assume that there must be relevant information on the seized computer.
The reopening of the email investigation based on the discovery of messages on Weiner’s computer has prompted accusations that Comey and the FBI could unfairly affect the outcome of next week’s election. On top of that, the FBI had previously agreed not to pursue any cases involving either Clinton or Trump before the election. Comey’s decision to reopen the email probe broke that promise.
Comey “chose to go ahead and take a very drastic step and make this announcement before the election,” said Attkisson. “He’s calculated would have been worse if he had waited until afterwards and then it was known in retrospect what he had known prior to that.”
As reported by Newsmax, the FBI is also looking into former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort’s suspicious business dealings in Ukraine as well as Hillary and Bill’s connection to foreign donors to the Clinton Foundation … but “the agency has opted to issue no subpoenas until after the election.”
Last week, we discovered that FBI agents’ earlier attempts to expose the rampant corruption between Hillary’s tenure as Secretary of State and the Clinton Foundation were shut down by the Justice Department. According to the Daily Caller, at least five FBI offices have launched investigations into the Clinton Foundation.
In regards to next week’s election, DeLay told Malzberg that he would start impeachment hearings immediately if Hillary is elected. “You can’t have a criminal serving in the White House as President of the United States and Commander-in-Chief. It’s impossible. So let’s try her in the Senate.”
