Woke NPR CEO Katherine Maher in Congressional Hearing – The Most Embarrassing in History?

Wednesday, March 26, was a bad day for woke ideologues whose leftist propaganda machinery has been oiled up by taxpayer money for many years. In a congressional hearing, the liberal head of National Public Radio (NPR) Katherine Maher, was put on blast by Republicans for her race-baiting and anti-American views shared on public platforms.
The House DOGE Committee hearing, chaired by Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, lasted well over two hours in which top executives from NPR and PBS were questioned by committee members. The Republicans on the committee grilled the executives from the two public broadcasting organizations for poisoning their viewers with radical leftist political propaganda. Greene particularly expressed outrage over unhealthy and sleazy content, like transgenderism, targeting children.
Katherine Maher of NPR, in particular, was taken to task by Greene and Congressman Brandon Gill of Texas. Greene read Maher’s statement that accused America of being “addicted to white supremacy.”
On his turn, Congressman Gill quoted from some of Maher’s tweets she made over the years to confront her over her radical leftist views including the accusation that America is addicted to white supremacy and America being a nation of “black plunder and white democracy.” Maher used the familiar “I don’t recall” and outright denial of some statements. Gill then showed printouts of her exact tweets to contradict her denial, leaving Maher struggling to make up a coherent excuse.
Congressman William Timmons of South Carolina told Maher, “You are a rabid progressive,” straight to her face while questioning her about having 87 Democrats but not a single Republican on the editorial board of NPR.
The exchange between Gill and Maher went viral on X with conservatives posting screenshots of Maher’s tweets that called for reparations for black people. Gill himself posted one of Maher’s tweets from 2020 about “black plunder and white democracy.”

Elon Musk, who heads Trump’s DOGE initiative, chimed in the social media buzz about Maher’s woke activism. He posted a 2024 video clip of Maher’s talk wherein she called reverence for truth a distraction from “getting important things done.” Musk asked whether taxpayer money should fund an organization run by people like her.
A MAGA supporter under the name Trumpian Cat Lady posted a story link from January 2024 in which legal scholar Jonathan Turley slammed Maher for deleting her racially charged tweets bashing white people.
Some X users put on their sleuth boots to connect the dots left out of the DOGE hearing. Publius, the account of an independent journalist, dug out the connection between Maher and the recent Signal app incident of Trump officials accidentally leaking sensitive information to a leftist journalist. Publius shared a screenshot showing that Maher is also currently the Chair of the Board of Signal. He asked, “What are the odds?”
Well, what can I say: NPR brought a knife to a gun fight. If they didn’t know what the dumb silver-spooned MTG was going to do, shame on them. I watched five minutes, wondered where James Carval was when needed, wondered why Michael Moore hates Dems now, and moved on.
They will stop the money anyway, so let’s move on….
But I laughed as you folks bring up Hunter Biden one more time. You seem not to know that he was never elected anything, you will smear Joe for no more than the pardon over it, and given Trump, seems appropriate and right. And it’s going nowhere.
But the editorial staff, Joe, of PBP thought two stories in 24 hours for this groundbreaking coverage of Hunter issues. Again. No change. More of the same. Snore fest.
Sigh.
But yeah, Ernie, embarrassing. Most embarrassing though? Apparently The Dumpster did not catch Gabbard and Ratcliffe perjure themselves over the chat. While we can figure Hegseth was drunk, what was their issue? Sixteen white men, two white women, and no balls to speak up and say “fuck, we can’t do this here.” I feel safer now that I know no other country will share sensitive information. Safter than our asset on the ground these that they outed. Nope, I think their false defense with lies in front of Congress is more egregious and embarrassing.
So we are thinking that unclassified conversations that have no bearing on events or decisionmaking are the big news now?
No, we are stating it’s wrong to say what they said outside a secure facility on an unsecured ap with people in moscow, not in a secure tent and the bitch in asia that can’t remember what country she was in.
They preannounced take-offs, arms, delivery mechanisms and made it clear they had assets on the ground in Houthi land.
Did you run your ops like that?
Was Pete drunk again?
Much depends on the situation, sometimes you have to plan an op in a bar in Montevideo. And you also have to consider the Houthis likely do not have the sophistication to tap Signal, nor would the information have helped them.
When Obama said in public “Hillary did not compromise national security” on a talk show, that was it, and any (of the considerable) damage that Hillary’s email server did was thereby forgiven (even though she was sending top secret information and is likely that five enemy intelligence services and many other friendly ones were reading it). Trump has already said he is not firing anyone. It was a mistake, no damage done, it’s over.
Come on Joe, you have to admit this is a boneheaded stupid mistake that most intelligence officers would be, at minimum, put into the penalty box for some time.
Using Hillary to cover Hegseth is a non-sequitur, apples n pears comparison where she was fully investigated and exonerated and no war time plans were shared. Hegseth outed our asset on the ground at the site for the Houthis to know so they can tear the place apart to find him. Hegeseth noted times, delivery mechanisms, and ordinance. Sure, no American soldiers died and I am sure they will feel really supported next time they are ordered to go in. Like our allies will feel better now about sharing intelligence with us.
Like Hillary’s email, there needs to be an investigation before you can claim “nothing to see here.” Was Hegseth drinking again? How many signal calls have these guys had? If we didn’t know about this one, what else don’t we know about others? And where is Eric’s laptop? You gotta know he’s got pictures :<)
"It was a mistake, no damage done, it’s over" is what we said about Hillary. Wonder how that worked out for us. Buckle up buttercup. No son, it was a mistake, let's investigate to see how deep the kimchee really is. And let's charge Gabbard and Ratcliffe for perjury to Congress. Either that stuff was classified OR not. They said not, it sure looks different. And if different, that's perjury to Congress I think for both of these boneheads.
Beyond anything else, this incident has exposed the hypocrisy of the the left. They have no face to raise any question while expecting to be taken seriously after all the crimes of their side they have defended over the decades. For the incident itself, yes it looks bad. I feel people should be fired to show that this admin is different from its predecessors. Sadly I don’t see that happening.
