Why Trump is Bigger than Obama
What makes a leader? Those of us on the conservative side have not liked Obama for a variety of reasons, but its more than just politics. We’re not comfortable with his leadership style, and sometimes we don’t know why. Maybe this will help.
This is one of my favorite quotes, written by Marianne Williamson (once thought to be from Nelson Mandela). It perhaps illustrates the difference between Trump’s style and Obama’s
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?
Actually who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people will not feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It is not just some of us; it is in everyone and as as we let our own light shine, we unconscously give others permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
To me this quote describes the American spirit. Americans do not enjoy playing small, and they really don’t enjoy when our President plays small on our behalf.
Let’s take a look at Obama “playing small.”
The “apology tour.” President Obama has apologized around the world for the actions of America, in France, Trinidad and Tobago, Britian, Turkey and more. Here are some quotes.
“In America, there’s a failure to appreciate Europe’s leading role in the world. Instead of celebrating your dynamic union and seeking to partner with you to meet common challenges, there have been times where America has shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive.”
“The United States will be willing to acknowledge past errors where those errors have been made.”
“I would like to think that with my election and the early decisions that we’ve made, that you’re starting to see some restoration of America’s standing in the world. And although, as you know, I always mistrust polls, international polls seem to indicate that you’re seeing people more hopeful about America’s leadership.”
And of course Michelle’s famous statement “For the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my country because it feels like hope is finally making a comeback”
The common message here seems to be “America is flawed, just like you.” These are not the only examples, it has been a theme with a Obama. Dont you get the impression he is ashamed of America and cannot bring himself to represent America as great?
Trump talks about his magnificent buildings and brands, he is confident, he is brash, he is a man of action. America will never see him “play small.” The American Revolution was not lead by the likes of Barack Obama, nor was the industrial revolution, landing on the moon, nor defeating the Soviet Union.
America has been great when its leaders have recognized its greatness.
Have we had enough of President Obama “playing small”? Are we willing to accept 4 more years of the continuation of Obama through Hillary?
Federal money should be withheld from Illinois. And the Trump justice Department should bring charges against the governor for interfering…
Frank, you were never cute. Just nasty and horrible and you know it.
Yeah, Jim. I like what you said. Remember, Kamala was a prostitute.
I like the cut of your jib. Read the whole thing. Interesting points.
