Who or what is Lionel Dripps?

I recently did a commentary on a piece of trash political mail I received from the Center for Voter Information.  It claimed to come from an independent non-partisan organization that wants to inform voters on key issues.  It was, however, a fact-challenged deceptive piece of literature that is working very hard to elect Joe Biden.

Similarly deceptive – and even intimidating – letters have been sent out in the name of the Voter Participation Center.  Both groups are Democrat front organizations for dirty political tricks based on voter deception, intimidation and suppression.

In campaigns, we have come to expect biased candidate comparison emanating from one camp or another.  What made this one remarkable is the extent to which the authors went to TRY to fool the voter into believing it was an objective analysis.  It was insulting in terms of the level to which it assumed the recipients were ignorant or gullible – or both.  It was obviously not the work of a clever professional campaign consultant.  The entire piece was laughable.

This unintended parody of campaign literature was signed at the bottom by one Lionel Dripps.  Really, you just cannot make this stuff up.  Since no rational human would want to take credit for this amateurish piece of garbage, I had to Google the name.  Oh my God!  There really is a Lionel Dripps – he is a major Democrat player.

The misnamed Center for Voter Information is one of those independent committees that operate in the shadow of political campaigns – the types of organizations that Democrats are supposed to hate.  It reminded me of how Democrats demonize wealthy folks – but only those who do not donate billions of dollars to … Democrats.  They loooove people like mega billionaire Michael Bloomberg and socialist George Soros.  But that is a different story.

Dripps appears to be the Dean of Disinformation.  In 2018, the Wisconsin Elections Commission had to issue a public warning against misleading and inaccurate voting material being distributed by the Center.

Again, in Mississippi the Secretary of State’s office had to issue a warning after Dripps sent out a communication that gave voters a partisan “grade” ALLEGEDLY based on their past votes.

According to Secretary of State Delbert Hoseman, Mississippi voters do not register by political party.  Therefore, the alleged information is unobtainable.  Hoseman said that, “Correspondence like this is intimidating and misleading and ultimately deters voters from going to the polls to cast a ballot.”

A similar campaign was conducted by Dripps in Kentucky.  They falsely claimed that it was a voter survey. The correspondence was clearly designed to suppress Republican votes by threatening to use the recipients’ names and grades in future letters.  The Kentucky communication had a letterhead of the Kentucky State Voter Report – a front for a front.

Dripps brought disinformation strategy to New York’s 19th Congressional District where Democrat Antonio Delgado defeated Republican incumbent John Faso.  It cannot be determined if the Dripps’ skullduggery influenced the outcome, but it does take a bit of the luster off the Delgado victory.

While Dripps has his name on most of the outgoing communications, the founder of the Voter Participation Center is a left-wing Democrat activist woman named Page Gardner.  She originally founded Women’s Voices Women Vote Action Fund, which worked to defeat Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election.

According to the HuffPost – where Gardner has been a “contributor” – the Women’s organization is “a research-driven, non-profit and non-partisan organization dedicated to increasing the participation of unmarried women and other historically underrepresented groups in our democracy.”  That is far from an accurate description.  Both Gardner and Dripps are long-time Democrat activists.  But apparently deception is profitable.  Gardner is reported to be knocking down a $190,000 salary.

When examining this sleazy operation, one needs to keep in mind that this is not just some outlier political group run by some left-wing extreme nutcases.  No. No. No.  It is a well-connected and well-funded strategic Democrat insider dirty tricks operation run by … oh yeah …  some left-wing extremist nutcases.

So, there ’tis.
