In recent weeks, the Democrat strategy to get President Biden elected to a second term has unfolded. ; It is no longer an effort to explain away his policy failures … his gaffes … his senior moments … or his frequent falls and near falls. ; The is no appreciating the economic fear and pain being felt by the American people. ; No. ; No. ; No. ; ;

All that is brushed aside for a campaign of political canonization. ; Or put another way, Biden is an intellectual and physical SUPERMAN.

Aides describe the elderly Biden as full of energy. ; Staffers half his age cannot keep up with him – so they say. ; White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre ;attested to his phenomenal energy. ; In addition, he is a mental powerhouse – a man who relies on years of experience as a Washington establishmentarian to out negotiate … ; out maneuver … and outwit his political adversaries.

One of the first to get the proverbial “memo” from the White House was MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell – arguably the network’s most mendacious propaganda spinner (with everyone else in the MSNBC line-up in a close second place).

According to O’Donnell, Biden is a political genius. ; He was brilliant in his handling of the (phony) debt ceiling crisis. ; O’Donnell claimed that Biden’s abandoning his firmly stated position that he would not sign anything but a “clean” Debt Ceiling Bill – and wound-up negotiating concessions from that position – was a brilliant strategy. ; He did not cave. ; He only made it “appear” that he caved to trick House Speaker Kevin McCarthy. ; Of course, that makes absolutely no sense – but such extreme bullpoop rarely does.

O’Connell’s re-write of history reminded me of Inspector Clouseau in the “Pink Panther” movies. ; Every time he stumbled, he would get up and insist that the pratfall was planned for some implied cleaver reason.

Within days, the entire team of Biden media lackies were on script. ; Biden is a genius. ; “Morning Joe’s” Mike Barnicle was waxing on about how Biden’s long experience in Washington has made him a premier negotiator – with no peers. ; Joe Scarborough, Mika Brzezinski, and the rest of the “Morning Joe” cast were all singing the praises of the President from the White House song sheet.

Despite the fact that most Americans feel the economy is in bad shape – and the nation is going in the wrong direction – the canonization crowd describes Biden as an economic genius who has produced the best economy in history. ; The only problem is that the people back home are too stupid to realize how good they have it.

Despite Biden’s incredibly light work schedule – and his lazy days back home in Delaware on most weekends – staffers and sycophants keep talking about his heavy workload – and his superhuman ability to keep up with it.

Team Biden is peddling the image of a virile, competent, sound-minded President working tirelessly every day – producing nothing but good things for the American people. ; That is what they want us to see.

But … what do we see?

We see a President who seems to have old-age stability problems. ; We see a President with a very light daily schedule – often with nothing on the schedule for the entire day. ; We see a President whose public appearances and press conferences are rare and tightly controlled. ; We see a President who seems to have senior moments when left on his own. ; He forgets. ; He gets confused. ; He gaffes. ; He needs cheat sheets to tell him to say hello to meeting participants – and to take his seat. ; We see a President who needs pre-planned questions from the press – with prepared answers.

And what about the economy? ; We see – and feel – the ravages of inflation – an inflation partly caused by Biden’s war on domestic oil production and reckless federal spending. ; We see a humanitarian crisis at the border – a crisis that Biden refuses to address, at best, or promotes, at worse.

We see the unprecedented impact of crime on our communities. ; As a result, we see massive looting and shoplifting that has businesses abandoning high-crime communities and cities. ; We see the impact of illegal immigration on crime and drug addiction. ; ;

We still remember Biden’s unilateral decision to precipitously surrender in Afghanistan – and his snail-pace support of the war in Ukraine.

The White House’s reaction to what we see is like that line from the Marx brothers’ movie. ; “Who you going to believe, me or your lying eyes.” ; Considering the fact that Biden’s favorable rating hovers in the mid 30 or low 40 percentiles, I guess we know the answer.

Perhaps the efforts to polish Biden’s image would not be such a failure if the claims were not so profoundly preposterous.

So, there ‘tis.

White House Peddling Superman Biden … and They are Not Joking
