Beating up on President Trump has become a hyperbolic obsession for those on the left ever since he came down the escalator after announcing his plan to run for President in 2015. It became a movement when the left-wing establishment launched its plan to resist Trump in all things all the time. It was the coincidental launch of the evergreen “Trump Resistance Movement” and “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”

Since all the controversy over the January 6, 2021, riot on Capitol Hill, the left has used primarily one strategy against Trump — that he is an existential threat to the Constitution and the American democracy. ; They call him a fascist and compare him to Adolph Hitler. ; He is pure evil in their biased eyes. He is described as a wannabe authoritarian king who will usher in an American dictatorship. They characterize his MAGA supporters (millions of voters) as a Nazi-like cult.

The strategy did not work. ; At times, it seemed that their ridiculously extreme criticism actually accrued to Trump’s benefit. ; When Trump signaled a run in 2024, the left piled on with the harshest accusations – and endless lawsuits. ; No presidential candidate in American history had received such extreme demonization. ;And yet, Trump had his greatest election victory in 2024 – winning the popular vote and all the battleground states. ; He improved his numbers in every state and almost every county across America.

So, how did Democrats, the left-leaning media react? They shattered in deranged disbelief and anger. And their only strategy in dealing with the reinstated President was to double down — be more extreme and more intense than ever in their ion their mendacious claims and narratives. No matter what Trump does, they spin it as anti-American … anti-democracy … illegal … immoral … unconstitutional. Adam Serwer, writing for The Atlantic, epitomized the extreme anti-Trump fearmongering when he said that Trump will thrust America into a new “dark age.”

No matter how much Democrats and the left-wing establishment peddle their fantastical end-of-the-world narrative … no matter how many times they re-package it – no matter how many times they double down … no matter how many times they expand it … it never seems to work. It just goes back to what Lincoln said. “You cannot fool all the people all the time.”

Trump has his faults – perhaps more than most presidents. (I have pointed out more than a few in the past.) He may do things that some folks do not like. He may not adhere to traditions or norms. He may be a disruptor of the establishment. But he is not a threat to the American democracy. The foundations of the Republic are solid. He will serve out his term, and the American people will elect a new President.

By what of insanity do Democrats think that a continuation of their failed political narrative – taking it to new levels of extremity – will suddenly work? It is time – past time – for Democrats to calm down. To stop the constant hysterical fearmongering and hyperbolic demonization of Trump and at least half the American people.

In their pursuit of universal anti-Trumpism, the left presents an agenda that appears to oppose deporting illegal aliens – even the hardened criminals. They oppose reducing waste and fraud in the federal programs – and act as if every bureaucrat … ; every expenditure …every grant to colleges and institutions is a matter of life and death. ; They support defunding police – and have done so in some cases. ; They oppose tax relief for the average American solely because Trump proposes it. ; They seem willing to accept unfair trade practices merely because Trump is fighting against them. ; They seem oblivious to the fact that without cuts and reductions in federal spending, the entire economy will crash.

In short, the Democratic Party has become the party of false narratives and pervasive negativism. ; They have no positive agenda – only platitudes and accusations. ; And the American people are increasingly weary of it – fed up. ; It is why Trump won the election in 2024 … and why so many Democrats have turned away from left-wing media … and why the Democratic Party has the lowest favorable rating in its history. ; ; And they still do not get it. Yeah!

So, there ‘tis.

When will Democrats give up their ridiculous “end of democracy” narrative?
