Wanna bet Biden cans Jean-Pierre after the midterm election?

For months, Democrats and their media friends have been claiming that the Party’s falling polling numbers are due to a “messaging failure.”

They suggest that the folks back home are not giving the Democratic Party the support they deserve because the good news has not penetrated the thick skulls of the electorate.

In fact, Biden’s message about his self-proclaimed accomplishments is getting enormous media attention. They just cannot face the fact that at least half the country is not buying the bull-poop.

If Biden wants to complain about messaging, there is a weak link in his communication infrastructure. It is his White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.

(I shall pause here as the left-wingers set their hair on fire – and pull out their worn and tattered race card. I AM NOT CRITICIZING HER BECAUSE SHE IS BLACK. I AM COMMENTING ON HER ABILITY TO HANDLE THE JOB. I know they will not believe that, but I had to make that point.)

Most White House Press Secretaries are okay. A few are excellent. And some are awful. The list of those in each category is bipartisan. I judge them not on their politics but on their ability to communicate the boss’ agenda effectively.

Among the very good ones are Jen Psaki (Biden), Kayleigh McEnaney (Trump), Robert Gibbs (Obama), Dana Perino, Tony Snow and Ari Fleischer (Bush II), James Brady (Reagan), and Bill Moyers (Johnson).

Among the worse are Stephanie Grisham, Sarah Sanders and Sean Spicer (Trump), Jay Carney (Obama), Joe Lockhart, George Stephanopoulos and Dee Dee Myers (Clinton), Jerald terHorst (Ford) and Ron Ziegler (Nixon) … and, of course, Jean-Pierre (Biden).

We can cut Jean-Pierre a little slack since she followed one of the best. Psaki did one hell of a job representing Biden – and you have to consider the person she was representing. Psaki was on camera almost every day. There were times you had to wonder if she was speaking FOR the President or AS the President. She handled tough questions and gave detailed answers – usually without reading them from the briefing book. Yes, she dodged questions (part of the job) but did it artfully.

Jean-Pierre is just not up to that skill level. She does not give crisp answers – and even worse gives answers that make no sense. You just need to recall how she fumbled the subject when her boss called on a dead congresswoman to stand and be recognized. Jean-Pierre explained that Biden was thinking of the congresswoman and had her “on top of his head.” If that was true, why didn’t Biden know she was dead?

One of the indicators of Jean-Pierre’s failing job performance is the fact that even the Biden-friendly news media are not covering the daily briefings as much. They are not booking her for as many appearances as they did Psaki. Even worse. Jean-Pierre is more likely to be on camera when she flounders.

If I notice all that, you can rest assured that Biden and his staff see the same thing. I personally believe she is currently in the job because Biden does not want to fire a black woman ahead of the midterm elections. But I also believe that Biden is not going to enter the 2024 presidential election season with Jean-Pierre as the voice of the White House. I could be wrong. Just must wait and see.

So, there ‘tis.
