As if his bad cabinet picks were not enough to raise conservative voters’ concerns, President Trump has dropped another bomb on his base. On Sunday, Trump announced his endorsement of Karrin Taylor Robson for Arizona Governor in 2026. Robson is a widely disliked figure seen as a Republican in Name Only (RINO) who is loyal to the anti-America deep state.
Karrin Taylor Robson ran in the Republican primaries for AZ Governor in 2022 against Trump-endorsed MAGA candidate Kari Lake. She was supported by Mike Pence and Doug Ducey, two Republicans seen and disliked by the MAGA base as traitors and turncoats. When Trump announced running for reelection in November 2022, Robson went on Fox News to call Donald Trump “a drag on the Republican Party.”
Robson also raised money for anti-American and pro-open borders Democrat Ruben Gallego and held a fundraiser for Chris Christie who ran against Trump in the primaries for 2024.
With her awful record of pro-establishment and anti-MAGA views and efforts, Robson receiving Trump’s endorsement came nothing less of a shocker to Trump’s supporters. Conservative commentator Laura Loomer, who has worked tirelessly for boosting the 2024 Trump campaign and rarely if ever disagrees with Trump, took to Twitter (X) to question Trump’s endorsement, as reported in Raw Story and other media.
In her X post, Loomer questioned Trump directly: “Respectfully, who is doing the vetting for you?” She posted Gallego’s X post from 2022 wherein he credited Robson as one of his biggest bundlers (fundraisers).

The Gateway Pundit, labeled as a “far-right” news site, also questioned Trump’s endorsement while calling Robson “Outspoken Never-Trump RINO” who has supported lower tuition fees in Arizona schools for illegal aliens. The story wrote:
The Gateway Pundit has reported extensively on Robson’s anti-American liberal record, including her support for discounted college tuition rates for illegal immigrants and eliminating Second Amendment rights on campus, COVID lockdowns and mandates, and transgender restrooms.
Hundreds of comments dropped on The Gateway Pundit story expressing disappointment and questioning Trump’s endorsement of Robson. On Sunday, conservative representative of the AZ State House Jacqueline Parker responded to Trump’s endorsement of Robson by posting on X that Trump needs to keep himself out of statewide races because his endorsements have messed up things for conservatives in Arizona in the past.
The latest disappointment among MAGA supporters over the endorsement of Robson follows a number of other choices made by Trump recently in preparation for his upcoming presidential term. Last month, his nomination of vaccine pusher and pro-censorship figure Dr. Janette Nesheiwat for the Surgeon General’s office evoked a widespread outcry among conservatives, only to be ignored by Trump.
Last week, NBC reported that Trump is having second thoughts about firing the woke Joint Chiefs Chairman Charles Q. Brown Jr. appointed by Joe Biden in 2023 and opposed by many prominent conservatives including some Senators like JD Vance – the current VP-elect – who voted against his confirmation. The news came as a disappointment to MAGA voters and raised questions about Trump’s seriousness to drain the swamp.
