Trump Says No Plans to Declare State of Emergency Ahead of Midterms
Amidst absurd claims by the left that it was one of his motivations for the attack on Iran, President Trump says he has “no plans” to declare a state of emergency ahead of the Midterm elections.
The president shrugged off reports that he could consider declaring a national emergency around the midterm elections.
“Who told you that?” Trump told reporters, when asked about the possibility.
“No,” he said when asked if he was looking at the idea. “I’ve never heard about it.”
The Washington Post reported that pro-Trump activists who claimed to be in coordination with the White House were circulating a drafted executive order aimed at giving the president more power over the upcoming elections.
However, that report by the paper was prior to the attack on Iraq and claimed that Trump would issue such a declaration based on China’s interference in the 2020 elections. The report cites Florida lawyer Peter Ticktin, who said he’s had “certain coordination” with White House officials on the matter.
Even while denying any such “coordination” Trump has, however, been pressing Congress to approve the House-passed Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act, which would require proof of citizenship for voter registration and voter ID to cast ballots.
“Congress should unite and enact this commonsense, country-saving legislation right now. And it should be before anything else happens,” Trump said at this week’s State of the Union.
The president has indicated that, if the Senate does not pass the legislation, he will issue an executive order seeking to impose the same plan for this fall’s high-stakes elections.
“There will be Voter I.D. for the Midterm Elections, whether approved by Congress or not!” Trump wrote on Truth Social earlier this month.
He signed an earlier executive order last March aimed at dramatically overhauling how federal elections are run, directing states to require proof of citizenship to vote and directing the attorney general to target states that count absentee or mail-in ballots received after Election Day. That order has been challenged in multiple cases.
How Might the War in Iraq Impact the Midterms?
As to just how the war with Iraq might impact or influence the Midterm elections, that remains to be seen. The large-scale attack has drawn near-unanimous praise from the GOP and conservative think tanks in Washington, who have long dreamed of toppling the authoritarian regime in Tehran. But some White House officials worry the foreign policy gamble may derail Republican chances of holding onto control of Congress at a time when war-wary voters are more concerned with the cost of living than conflicts abroad.
This is the same guy who was in talks with Iran one day and bombed them the next day?
The guy who told the Iranians to rise up, we got your back, and then announced talks with the Iranian regime?
The guy who is backing Ukraine by cutting the funding support in 2025, not back to speed yet.
The guy who signed a law to release the Epstein files and currently breaks the law by not releasing the Epstein files and has erased much of the files pertaining to Epstein’s best friend, Trump.

Regarding the Federal Government trampling States’ Rights in the midterms has already started as they seize voting UNREDACTED data from Georgia and has sued five more states to get the same. They are looking to identify liberals by name and address; the unintended outcome is if the next guy is a liberal, he will have your data too.
They will meddle and intrude more, you can bet on it. State of Emergency? OK. He will just find another way.
I think the big question will be how close the guys with masks and guns will be.

This story was about the midterms —- what “ragheads” might you be addressing? The ones in Tehrangeles, Tehramiami, or Tehrando? While you are totally trailer trash racist in your comments, you may have a point that you feel Trump is rigging the midterms by bombing his way to a positive vote solution. First he bombed his way to get US-Venezuelan votes, now US-Iranian votes. He gave a shot but quickly figured out there is no US-Greenland or US-Canadian vote while losing the huge US-Danish vote and one hot damn pastry in the process. What’s next? He should fund Ukraine, there’s millions of US-Ukrainians, doesn’t even have to bomb them. Wonder why he missed that huge potential voting block that’s really the lowest hanging fruit. Actually, you are wrong. The Epstein files have more Trump named more than any other name. Epstein says he was Trump’s bestest friend for ten years. That means you like Epstein too, right? Timing is a problem with all this, the dates don’t line up, the stories change, and the most important part —– nothing happened. Trump knows he’s bad, boots him from club, and that’s it? Trump calls Sheriff and that’s it? And then there’s the Trump tawdry birthday card to a guy, Epstein, he obviously likes and is currying favor with.
