Trump Picks Bossert for White House Terrorism Adviser

<p>Trump announced Tuesday that he had chosen Thomas Bossert to join his administration as White House adviser on security and counterterrorism issues&period;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Bossert is no stranger to the White House&comma; having served as deputy homeland security adviser under President George W&period; Bush&period; He also worked for two years as Director of Infrastructure Protection Policy&period;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Bossert &ldquo&semi;has a handle on the complexity of homeland security&comma; counterterrorism&comma; and cybersecurity challenges&comma;&rdquo&semi; said Trump&period;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Bossert is a fellow at the Atlantic Council&rsquo&semi;s Cyber Statecraft Initiative &ndash&semi; a think tank that focuses on &ldquo&semi;international cooperation&comma; competition&comma; and conflict in cyberspace&period;&rdquo&semi; Bossert says cybersecurity will take the main focus in his new job&period; &nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>We &ldquo&semi;must work toward &lbrack;a&rsqb; cyber doctrine that reflects the wisdom of free markets&comma; private competition&comma; and the important but limited role of government in establishing and enforcing the rule of law&comma; honoring the rights of personal property&comma; the benefits of free and fair trade&comma; and the fundamental principles of liberty&comma;&rdquo&semi; he said in a statement&period;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Trump says Bossert will be assigned to &ldquo&semi;domestic and transnational priorities&comma;&rdquo&semi; while National Security Adviser Michael Flynn will focus on international security issues&period;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&ldquo&semi;Tom brings enormous depth and breadth of knowledge and experience to protecting the homeland to our senior White House team&comma;&rdquo&semi; said Trump&period; &ldquo&semi;He has a handle on the complexity of homeland security&comma; counterterrorism&comma; and cybersecurity challenges&period; He will be an invaluable asset to our administration&period;&rdquo&semi;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>In other news&comma; a nagging investigation is prohibiting Trump from making good on his promise to dissolve the Donald J&period; Trump charity before taking office&period;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&ldquo&semi;The Trump Foundation is still under investigation by this office and cannot legally dissolve until that investigation is complete&comma;&rdquo&semi; said a spokesperson for NY Attorney General Eric Schneiderman&period;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The charity has been under investigation for months after it admitted to violating IRS regulations&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&ldquo&semi;The DJT Foundation&comma; unlike most foundations&comma; never paid fees&comma; rent&comma; salaries&comma; or any expenses&comma;&rdquo&semi; tweeted Trump&period; &ldquo&semi;100&percnt; of the money goes to wonderful charities&period;&rdquo&semi;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>A 2015 tax filing&comma; however&comma; confirmed that Trump used foundation money to settle lawsuits&comma; make political donations&comma; and purchase luxury items&period;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
