<p>Sanctuary Cities have made it clear they are not going to comply with immigration laws and will be protecting illegal aliens. The immigration enforcement agency (ICE) in response will be deploying hundreds of agents in these cities with a focus on arresting criminal aliens. ;</p>
<p>&ldquo;Now they have meaning to their jobs,&rdquo; said Thomas Homan, the acting director of ICE about the U.S. Border Patrol and ICE agents. &ldquo;What this president has done is taken the handcuffs off of law enforcement officers who are charged with enforcing immigration laws.&rdquo;</p>
<p>Homan has been an immigration cop for 30 years and applauds President Donald Trump&#8217;s efforts to combat illegal immigration. ;</p>
<p>He points out that illegal crossings are the lowest they have been in the last decade. In June of this year, illegal crossings over the southern U.S.-Mexico border were 53% lower than the June in 2016. ;</p>
<p>&ldquo;You can like President Trump, not like him, like his policies, not like his policies, but one thing no one can argue with is the effect they&rsquo;ve had,&rdquo; said Homan to the ;<em>Washington Examiner.</em></p>
<p>But now the ICE is focusing on increasing the interior operations in sanctuary cities. ;</p>
<p>&ldquo;As Director Homan stated, uncooperative jurisdictions have a higher rate of criminal alien releases than in places that honor ICE detainers,&rdquo; said an ICE official to <em>The Daily Caller News Foundation</em>. &ldquo;As a result, ICE is forced to focus additional resources on conducting at-large arrests in the field in these non-cooperative areas.&rdquo;</p>
<p>Because the sanctuary cities refuse to cooperate with immigration policies, the ICE will be broadening its deportation net and looking beyond jails. ;</p>
<p>&ldquo;I&rsquo;m going to arrest him and anybody else with him because there is no population off the table anymore,&rdquo; said Homan. &ldquo;So if you really want to tap down the fear in the immigrant community, I would think the counties would want me in their jails.&rdquo;</p>
<p><strong>Author&#8217;s note:</strong> ;The sanctuary cities efforts have backfired. Instead, the ICE will be focusing on these areas since they are seen as &#8220;safe havens&#8217; to illegal immigrants. Trump is coming down hard on sanctuary cities. This will probably scare illegals out of these areas.</p>
