Trump Foundation Forced to Stop Soliciting in NY, Democrat Schneiderman Goes After Trump Again
Donald Trump’s charitable foundation has been issued a violation from the New York attorney general’s office and an order to immediately stop soliciting donations in the state.
“The Trump Foundation must immediately cease soliciting contributions or engaging in any other fundraising activities in New York,” said James Sheehan, head of the attorney general’s charities bureau in the notice sent to the foundation last Friday.
The Democrat, Attorney General Eric Schneiderman issued the violation against the Donald J. Trump Foundation claiming the group was fundraising without being properly registered.
Multiple liberal media outlets have been publishing articles about the registration of the charity foundation. The Post allegedly reported that the Trump Foundation never registered under article 7A of of New York’s Executive Law, which is required for a charity asking for $25,000 or more per year from the public. Then last month, the Times reported that Trump’s foundation was not listed on multiple charity registers in other states.
It’s likely that this move by the attorney general has a blatant political agenda, especially because he has made his opinions about Trump awfully clear in the past.
“While we remain very concerned about the political motives behind A.G. Schneiderman’s investigation, the Trump Foundation nevertheless intends to cooperate fully with the investigation,” said the Republican presidential candidate’s spokesperson, Hope Hicks. “Because this is an ongoing legal matter, the Trump Foundation will not comment further at this time.”
The foundation will have to submit the legal paperwork about the solicited money from the public within 15 days and also provide all financial audit reports from previous years.
Like we said, Schneiderman has previously had some strong words to describe Trump’s former suits. The attorney general has gone after the presidential candidate in the fraud case against Trump University. Schneiderman appeared on ABC’s “Good Morning America” in June and said the real estate seminar was “really a fraud from beginning to end” and “just a scam.”
And the recent violation is another politically motivated “attack” by the attorney general.
Editor’s note: Doesn’t get any more obvious than this, its a pattern we see frequently with the the Hillary campaign – find a minor flaw and blow it up into a national issue.
