Town Hall Assault on Ilhan Omar – Real or Staged?
Controversial Democrat Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota has been in the news a lot lately, yet again, after a video from one of her events showed a man spraying her with some liquid from a syringe. To the media, it was apparently a physical assault on Omar. But conservatives all over the place are calling it a staged act performed with political motives.
The incident took place on Tuesday (January 27) at a town hall in Minneapolis where Omar was speaking against Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigrants in Minneapolis. Videos of her speech show a man sitting in the front row get up and spray some liquid on her sweater while she was slamming Trump’s Homeland Security chief Kristi Noem.
The man spraying the liquid on Omar was tackled by her security immediately and was arrested. He has been identified as 55-year-old Anthony Kazmierczak and charged with third-degree assault. The forensic analysis of the material has reportedly revealed that the liquid sprayed on Omar was apple cider vinegar, a common household kitchen item used as home remedy and in flavoring items such as salad dressings.
Immediately after the alleged assault’s video was shared, conservatives questioned the reality of the incident with many calling it a staged scene. Their conclusion comes from critical analysis of the video that reveals many unusual things that don’t add up.
On his X page, attorney and podcaster Eric Matheny posted one of the video’s angles that focused on the suspect sitting and acting “straight out of central casting” and wrote that the staged nature of this incident is painfully obvious.
When President was asked by ABC News about the town hall incident involving Omar, he said:
“I don’t think about her. I think she’s a fraud. She probably had herself sprayed, knowing her.”
Omar has been under federal investigation for a couple of years now over her rapid gain of wealth since she assumed the congressional office in 2019, rising from literally nothing to estimated tens of millions of dollars in just 6 years on an annual salary of less than $200,000. Just one day before the spraying incident, Fox News did a story on the leap in her finances and President Trump’s call for an investigation into her.
The timing of the spraying incident is thus quite interesting as are the accusations that she is linked to the recently revealed huge level of financial fraud worth billions of dollars committed by Somali immigrants in Minnesota, mainly in Omar’s constituency. With the President and fellow conservatives repeatedly calling for investigations into Omar’s finances and links to fraud, it isn’t far-fetched to suspect Omar of staging such an incident where she can pose both a victim and a hero standing for herself against an attacker.
Conservative news blog Patriotic Viral News included the motive to appear as a hero in the public eye as one of the several reasons that raise suspicion over this incident as nothing but “political theater from the queen of victimhood herself.”
Memes shared by conservatives have also continued to mock Omar for her easily detectable acting role in the incident.
On January 29, the Department of Justice (DOJ) announced filing federal charges of assault against Kazmierczak. His detention hearing and preliminary hearing are scheduled for February 3.

He’s a magarat who hates Somali’s. Sure, she hired that guy.
