
<p>Elected Republicans in D.C. may finally have the courage to go after their lawbreaking Democrat colleagues. Going into the offense mode, Republican Congresswoman Nancy Mace of South Carolina is moving the House to expel Democrat Representative LaMonica McIver of New Jersey, who was criminally charged earlier this week for an assault on law enforcement.</p>



<p>As reported in the <em>New York Post</em> (NYP), Nancy Mace filed a resolution on Wednesday (May 21) to expel Congresswoman McIver from the House after the Democrat confronted law enforcement at a migrant detention center in Newark, NJ, as she protested the detention of illegal aliens for deportation by the Trump administration. Mace was cited in the NYP condemning McIver’s conduct at the migrant detention facility:</p>



<p><em>“On May 9th, McIver didn’t just break the law, she attacked the very people who defend it. Attacking Homeland Security and ICE agents isn’t just disgraceful, it’s assault.”</em></p>



<p>Videos of the scene of confrontation between law enforcement at the detention facility and Democrats, including McIver, were included in news and circulated on social media soon after the incident.</p>

<p>Attorney and commentator Eric Matheny had asked for the expulsion of McIver from the House before Nancy Mace introduced her resolution toward her expulsion. On his X page, Matheny wrote that Republicans joined Democrats in expelling Republican Congressman George Santos when he was criminally charged without waiting for his conviction. So they should do the same for McIver.</p>

<p>Conservative commentator Nick Sortor voiced his support for Congresswoman Mace’s move to expel McIver as he posted on X: “TAKE IT UP, Speaker Johnson! Democrats need to FINALLY learn they can’t just do whatever the hell they want and get away with it.”</p>

<p>Many other conservative voices on X also called on House Speaker Mike Johnson to act toward the expulsion of McIver for her assault on ICE officers.</p>

<p>McIver is scheduled to appear before the court on June 11 for a preliminary hearing. If convicted on all the charges, she faces up to eight years in prison. McIver continues to defend</p>
