The Steele Dossier is baaack … and so is he

Just as the phony Dossier that kicked off the phony Russian collusion investigation was fading into the background, it is being brought back into the mainstream news – this time by ABC’s George Stephanopoulos.

For reasons that are not clear, Stephanopoulos conducted a one-on-one interview with Christopher Steele – a former British intelligence officer and the guy who reportedly prepared the document based on information he obtained from Russian operatives.  Steele, who has stayed in the shadows all these years, has suddenly decided to talk about the Dossier.  Why now? Is a good question.  Unfortunately, Stephanopoulos never got an answer to that one.

And why would ABC find the interview newsworthy at this time?  Was there more salacious stuff to be revealed?  Apparently not.

The fraudulent Steele Dossier was allegedly passed on to Hillary Clinton campaign operatives – and from there it went to the FBI.  Then FBI Director James Comey & Co. jumped on the document to gain permission to surveil Trump operatives.  They used the unvetted and unverified Dossier to launch the infamous Russian collusion investigation which — after 18 months and $35 million of taxpayer money – determined that no one associated with the Trump campaign had conspired with Russian meddling in the 2016 election.

The Dossier-triggered scandal may arguably be the most successful dirty trick in presidential campaign history.  As later events would reveal, it was the Clinton campaign that paid for the bogus Dossier – and then hand fed it to operatives in the FBI who were predisposed to undermine the Trump presidency in the hope of an impeachment and removal from office.  That was the “Insurance policy” that the married FBI agent Peter Strzok alluded to in texts with his paramour, fellow FBI agent Lisa Page – who was emotionally unhinged over Trump’s election.

Unfortunately for the Clinton folks, they left their fingerprints all over the Dossier.  After it was totally discredited, the spotlight was turned on those who created the hoax.  Those involved are still under investigations today.  It is no small irony that those who set up the phony Dossier to falsely accuse Trump of conspiring with Russians — the Clinton campaign — conspired with Russians.

If Democrats and the media thought that the re-emergence of Steele would breathe life into the old story, they may be badly mistaken.  Steele is far from a credible witness.  He made one concession that brought down the credibility of everything he said in that interview – and everything that he said in the past.  And – for that matter – everything the Clinton campaign, the media and the anti-Trump cabal within the FBI had said over many months.

Steele said that he was not 100 percent certain that the claims made in the Dossier were 100 percent true.  Could he assure the public that ANY of the damaging claims were true?  Nope.  He did believe that Trump’s then- personal attorney Michael Cohen was in Prague, as detailed in the Dossier.  While Steele said he thought it was possibly true, he could not explain – when asked by Stephanopoulos – why all the hard evidence proved that Cohen could not possibly have been in Prague – and why Cohen – who had a falling out with Trump–  has not supported that detail.

Steele still believes that the reported so-called “golden showers” tape exists.  That is the one that reportedly shows women prostitutes urinating on Trump.  It has never surfaced – according to Steele’s personal conspiracy theory – because Russian President Vladimir Putin was using it to blackmail Trump.  Trump has dismissed the existence of the tape saying that everyone knows he is a bit of a germaphobe.

If Steele’s interview was designed to resurrect all the old idle debunked gossip about Trump, it may backfire.  Revisiting those issues is more likely to expose the skullduggery of the Clinton campaign and the unethical – if not criminal – complicity of the FBI just as the ongoing investigations into those matters are beginning to mature.

So, there ‘tis.

Wasn’t it weird that trump recently felt the need to clarify that Melanie didn’t believe “ that one”.. meaning the pee tape.
Very strange indeed. I guess raw dogging a porn star a week after his wife gave birth to their child was completely in the wheel house though.

      Was it your mama?

First of all, Melania is not the sharpest knife in the drawer… makes you wonder what she DID believe…. and besides, she really doesn’t give a shit. She came from a pig farm in Communist Eastern Europe… she’s busy squirrelling away money, jewelry, and anything she can rip out of Trump’s grubby fingers, and probably will get a bonus from Putin as well. She’s probably got golden toilets on a slow boat back to Europe…

The commiecrats are afraid of Trump It’s going to be interesting to see what other shit gets thrown on the wall trying to see what sticks

    • Ben

No Dan, unless you know something that hasn’t been released, donny is into pee, not shit.

      • Dan Tyree

I’ve never heard of anyone accusing Trump of traveling the chocolate highway

Good God! You guys need to step back and see what you are writing. Parents scold their kids for talking such garbage. Do you get some kind of kick out of this level babble. I respect freedom of speech, but not necessarily how people choose to use it. You seem to be in a contest to see which of you can bring the discourse to the lowest guttural level. In a language you should understand … you just talk immature meaningless bullshit. No matter which side you are defending, it is pitiful.

Let’s remind readers that the Steele Dossier was commissioned by a Republican group who was looking for dirt on Trump. It was too little too late – by the time it would have been useful, Trump was already the Republican nominee. Only after that point did it make it to Clinton, and by that time it was also already on the FBI’s radar. It was also raw intelligence – not vetted, but most of it has turned out to be valid.

To say that Comey used it to illegally spy on Trump is also rather disingenuous. Comey literally handed the election to Trump at the last minute. Hardly a friend to Clinton.

But the biggest lie is to say that “no one associated with the Trump campaign had conspired with Russian meddling in the 2016 election.” C’mon, have you never looked at the Mueller report? The first three sections don’t say much, they’re all about procedure and fluff… but the last section, that Barr covered up and delayed and issued his “nothing to see here, folks” statement about – that is chock full of Russians meeting with Trump campaign staff, and who lied about what, and where the money was flowing…

Trump brought the Steele Dossier back into the public eye with his own public statements about the Pee tapes… If the press wants to bring it back up, let ’em. It’s time to revisit everything that Barr covered up for Trump.

It ain’t Trump, it’s Trumpian we are scared of. Rightfully. Based on The Big Lie, so far, eight states, on a political whim, can overturn the popular vote and put their political choice in office. With these laws, Trump would have won 2020, legally, but not Democratically. We are eight states closer to being Venezuela. You can vote but the ruling state party always wins and those states are Trump strongholds.

    • larry Horist

None of the new laws change a simple fact. The American people have easy access to the ballot. Every state has early voting, mail voting, and Election Day voting. You would have to have the IQ lower than a hockey score to not find a way to vote with great convenience. State legislatures have always had the ability to present a slate of electors. It only happen once 1876 — which ended in the Compromise of 1877. Democrats complain that poll watchers will be able to challenge voters under the new laws. That has been the case forever. The reason we have poll watchers is to challenge those they believe are improperly voting. As far as having governors or Secretaries of state replacing election officials — again that is not new. Where corruption is found, election officials have been replace … as they should be. The courts can intervene if there is a belief that the replacement is arbitrary or political. Fear not, my friend. The Republic is sound. Democracy is not in danger. The only thing coming our way from Venezuela is the Citgo chain of gas stations. Only the politics is chaotic at the moment.

I hope you are not predicting that if your side loses in 2022, the election will be rigged. You are not trying to give voters a lack of confidence in the system? I know how you hate people who do that.

Pee, Pooh, grab some pussy, porn stars, Russian czars, pageant peekaboo scars, those were the days my friends, he’s gone but will they ever end? Goldens showers by the hour while he sits on his golden tower of power, those were the days my friend. Tax evasion, Westchestire invasion, white power nation, racist elation, hires best, felon test, indict the rest,, those were the days my friends…

I think he’s about to become Presidential. Any day now. I mean all other candidates have like 1/6 of this guys Presidential stuff. “I have a favor to ask”. Who else but the Don could say that.

    • larry Horist

Frank …. I am getting weary of participating in the post-commentary chat. The level of discourse is gutter stuff … insults. You have your moment of intelligent content … but too often get dragged into the muck. The whole conversations is like something between a bunch of drunks in a bar.

    • Dan Tyree

Frank you’re obsessed with Trump. If he did those things and more I’m proud to have had him for my president. I voted for a leader. Not a pastor. I never have thought that he was a perfect man. The only perfect man got crucified. I’m sure you have had moments that you would like to stay private, and I wouldn’t want to hear about it. The truth is that the commiecrats party is made up of low life trash that has no respect for the constitution or rule of law. By the way, retard joe’s approval numbers are in the 30’s now

  6. Frank Stetson

Hey, you said it all you proud Trumper. I think we know who’s obsessed; you just gotta come out of the closet.

And, of course, you are still are scurrilous lying dog who cannot substantiate either the previous low Biden poll numbers or the current 30’s that apparently you pull out of the same place you want to put Trump into. Sorry for stepping into the gutter, just trying to speak in the language you can understand.

Stand and deliver: substantiate those poor numbers.

Or just continue to prattle on with your lies. no one believes anything you say anyway. Not after all this time. Not after this many lies, fabrications, and exaggerations. After all, you are the great bloviator….

I really think you need to get out of your mom’s basement and step out into the real world. Leave the blogosphere behind. Let me know when you want to have a real discussion. Cue the name calling. Weak tea.

    • Dan Tyree

Fox News gave the poll. Also town hall daily. And hell yes we are proud of Trump. I see that I pissed you off. Good Yes, retard joe has fallen in the polls. The idiot even said that he didn’t have time to go to the border. He’s not too busy to hide. And CNN is really worried about him

    • larry Horist

Frank. I think you owe Dan an apology on the polling numbers. Contrary to where you suggest he pulled them, he was correct. He was referring to a recent Quinnipiac poll — one of the more respectable ones. It was reported on FOX. If you only watch CNN and MSNBC it is just another example of how your not fully informed. Quinnipiac had Biden at 38 percent. –> https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign-polls/575769-biden-approval-rating-falls-to-low-of-38-percent-quinnipiac-poll

  7. Frankstetson

Fox at 43% but I do see a couple 37’s The average is still above 40 and still above Trump. But very bad.

    Could be a long winter.,..

    • Anonymous

You still need to apologize to Dan since you said he he pulled the number out of his posterior — made it up. Not so.

  8. Frank Stetson

I apologize. I did acknowledge I finally found it. Thanks for the reminder.

Now Dan and his enablers can back up or apologize for all the other lies he has been called on. Starting with Larry and that story Bruner and I called him on.

    Ready, set….
