The left’s war on children continues in 2026 and so does the right’s fight for children’s safety against the evil liberal mission of gender change in minors. Last week, Texas scored a major victory in this fight by forcing one of the largest hospitals in the state to pay for the damage it has done to children.

The pro-family and Judeo-Christian values website Texas Values (Txvalues.org, May 15) reported that the state’s Attorney General Office announced a settlement with Texas Children’s Hospital whereby the hospital would create a detransition clinic to serve patients on whom gender-change procedures were performed and the clinic would provide detransitioning services to these patients free of charge for the first five years.

In addition to the creation of the clinic to reverse the harm it did to children, the hospital is also required to pay $10 million for billing Texas Medicaid for the harmful and illegal gender-transition procedures performed on children. Further, as part of the settlement, the hospital will also fire five doctors who performed such gender-change procedures on patients, reported the New York Post (May 16).

The office of Texas AG Ken Paxton, who is also running for the U.S. Senate, was cited in NYP hailing the victory after years of investigation into the hospital’s gender-transitioning practices and billing codes for Medicaid reimbursements. Conservatives on social media cheered at the news of the settlement.

And as expected, liberals are reportedly not happy over the settlement that comes as a loss to their agenda. NYP wrote:

Civil rights groups and some Democratic lawmakers condemned the settlement, saying it placed politics over sound medical practice and was an attempt to stigmatize transgender people and push them out of public life.

The victory for conservatives in TX comes at a time when they are fighting for the same cause in several other states. In Kansas, for instance, a judge appointed by the Democrat Governor Laura Kelly temporarily blocked the state law banning transgender procedures on minors. Metro Weekly (May 20) reported:

On May 15, Judge Carl Folsom III of the State District Court in Douglas County granted a temporary injunction blocking the state from enforcing the law, finding that it likely violated parents’ rights to make decisions about their children’s health and wellbeing.

In a parallel and related legal battle in Wisconsin, a legal group called the Wisconsin Institute for Law &; Liberty (WILL) sued the state’s Democrat Governor Tony Evers after he rejected their demand to end the state’s ban on conversion therapy. Conservatives support conversion therapy to change sexual orientation among homosexual or other non-natural sexual tendencies back to natural/straight sexuality.
