“Big Tech poses…the single greatest threat to free speech in this country and to fair elections in this country,” said Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) this week. “Big Tech is trying to interfere in this election. Big Tech wants to defeat Donald Trump. And they’re brazenly willing to censor, to silence American citizens, media companies. It is wrong. It is abuse of monopoly power.”

Cruz’s comments follow shocking moves by Facebook and Twitter to censor an explosive New York Post article about Hunter Biden. Facebook used its fact-checking procedures to limit the spread of story, while Twitter actually locked the accounts of users who shared it (read more here).

Despite threats of legal action from Congress, Twitter locked users out of their accounts (including Mr. Cruz) for sharing a second article about Hunter Biden.

Even before the Hunter Biden fiasco, Facebook was under fire for election meddling including its decision to ban new political ads during the final week before the election and its long history of “down-ranking” conservative content so that it reaches a smaller audience.

Last week, we found out that a group of Chinese nationals controls key elements of Facebook’s censorship (read more here).

“Big Tech has gotten really bad with censorship, manipulation, open political bias,” said Cruz. “Google is by far the worst. Google is naked and brazen.”

This month, the US Department of Justice filed a lawsuit against Google for anti-competitive practices that have enabled it to maintain a monopoly. If the suit is successful, Google may be forced to break into smaller companies.

Speaking on Fox Business, Cruz cited Google whistleblower Dr. Robert Epstein’s confirmation that Google skewed its search results to favor the Democratic candidate in 2016. This deception convinced up to 2.4 million people to vote for Hillary Clinton, said Epstein. If Google is doing the same thing this year (which we can assume it is), the site could produce up to 10 million votes for Joe Biden.

“I think that’s what Google is doing,” said Cruz. “They are furious that they allowed Trump to win four years ago, and Big Tech is trying to silence any voice of dissent.”

On Monday, the Senate Judiciary Committee voted to subpoena the CEOs of Facebook and Twitter to testify regarding their election meddling and censorship efforts. Lawmakers are also calling to reform Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act so that websites like Facebook would lose protections regarding third-party content if they act like publishers instead of the neutral platforms they claim to be.

Author’s Note: This is worse than Russia or China interfering in our elections. These are domestic corporations attempting to influence the election for their benefit. This is treason.
