<p>A report from the House Intelligence Committee suggests ;the Dems continued to fund ;anti-Trump research even after the presidential election.</p>
<p>We all know by know about the <a href="https://punchingbagpost.com/former-intelligence-officer-buzzfeed-russia-trump-documents-are-fake---here-the-proof/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>debunked</strong></a> &ldquo;Steele dossier&rdquo; &#8211; a collection of ; salacious allegations about Trump and his connections to Russia authored by former British spy Christopher Steele. The research, funded by Hillary Clinton and the DNC, was utilized by the FBI to acquire a wiretap on former Trump campaign volunteer Carter Page. ;</p>
<p>&ldquo;The FBI relied extensively on Mr. Steele and his dossier to run down leads and conduct interviews,&rdquo; notes <em>The Washington Times</em>. At one time, the agency committed to paying Steele $50,000 to continue his research on Trump. &ldquo;The timing meant that Mr. Steele would be a paid FBI source during the transition and possibly the presidency.&rdquo; ;</p>
<p>The House Intelligence Committee report names Daniel Jones &#8211; former investigator for Senator Dianne Feinstein and current President of Penn Quarter Group &#8211; as having &ldquo;secured the services&rdquo; of Mr. Steele &ldquo;to continue exposing Russian interference&rdquo; after the 2016 election. ;</p>
<p>Jones, who is also a former FBI agent, told the agency in 2017 that his private investigative firm secured $50 million in funding from a group of wealthy donors in California and New York to hire Mr. Steele and Fusion GPS to continue investigating Trump and Russia. ;</p>
<p>&ldquo;The disclosure means the FBI has relied on at least two Democrat-tied groups &#8211; Fusion GPS and now the Penn Quarter Group &#8211; to collect accusations against President Trump,&rdquo; reports <em>The Times. ;</em></p>
<p>Senator Feinstein has also played a key role in the dossier&#8217;s saga. As the top Democrat on the ;Senate Judiciary Committee, she is leading a separate investigation into Trump&rsquo;s alleged connections to Russia.</p>
<p>In January, Feinstein released the transcript of an interview in which GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson claimed ;that at leat one person had &ldquo;been killed&rdquo; as a result of the publication of the Steele dossier. ;</p>
<p><strong>The whole situation has become like pro wrestling &#8211; everyone pretends that it&rsquo;s real even though we know it&rsquo;s fake.</strong></p>
<p>President Trump on Tuesday reiterated his claim that the investigation is a &ldquo;witch hunt&rdquo; after <em>The New York Times</em> reported on questions FBI special counsel Robert Mueller is planning to ask the president. ;</p>
<p>&ldquo;So disgraceful that the questions concerning the Russian Witch Hunt were &lsquo;leaked&rsquo; to the media,&rdquo; tweeted Trump. &ldquo;No questions on Collusion. Oh, I see&hellip;you have a made up, phony crime, Collusion, that never existed, and an investigation begun with illegally leaked classified information. Nice!&rdquo;</p>
<p>Mueller&rsquo;s job here is to attack the president. Having found no substantial evidence to support claims of collusion, he is now using the media to keep the drama going. ;</p>
<p>Mueller has sought for months to interview Trump, who at times has expressed a willingness to be interviewed. Trump&rsquo;s new lawyer, former NY Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, met with Muller last week to determine whether the interview would be conducted in an objective manner. ;</p>
<p>In the meantime, a bunch of wealthy donors are openly providing funding for Mr. Steele to produce more dirt on Trump. Steele&rsquo;s information was proven fake before, so we can expect future reports to be fake as well (once a source is compromised, you can never trust that source again). ;</p>
<p>Republican lawmakers ;in January sent a criminal referral to the DOJ asking for an investigation into Mr. Steele for misleading the FBI. The FBI fired Steele earlier this year, but I doubt the agency will investigate him &#8211; because in doing so they would disprove all the information they have been using to attack Trump. ;</p>
