As a federal probe into Hunter Biden’s tax filings moves closer to trial, liberal news outlets have been forced to admit the authenticity of a story they downplayed in 2020.
The story centered on a laptop Hunter left behind at a repair shop in Delaware in 2019. The laptop contained a treasure trove of emails, texts, and other documents confirming Hunter’s use of political leverage to earn massive profits from foreign energy companies – including $4.8 million from a state-run Chinese energy company called CEFC.
Apparently, Hunter sent as much as 50% of his ill-begotten earnings back to his family. “I hope you all can do what I did and pay for everything for this entire family for 30 years,” said Hunter in a text to his daughter Naomi in January 2019. “It’s really hard. But don’t worry, unlike pop, I won’t make you give me half your salary.”
Further research exposed a joint bank account belonging to both Hunter and Joe Biden. The account was discovered in 2018 when Hunter accidentally transferred $25,000 from the account to an escort in Los Angeles.

The New York Post exclusively reported on the contents of the laptop in October 2020. The story, which should have been of particular interest to Americans as they prepared to vote in the presidential election, was downplayed by the mainstream media. Several outlets claimed the story was “Russian disinformation” designed to impact the presidential election. Twitter even went to far as to lock the accounts of users who shared the Post article.
Last month, The New York Times finally issued a report confirming the existence of the laptop and noting Hunter Biden’s payment of over $1 million to the IRS.

The investigation into Hunter’s tax filings originally centered on his failure to pay taxes since his father took office as vice president, but was expanded in 2018 to consider how his international business dealings may be linked to his father’s political career.
“The thing that bothers me the most though, Maria, is the conspiracy,” said Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) to Fox News host Maria Bartiromo. “The real conspiracy here was the Democrats, Big Tech, Big Media, keeping this story from the American people just days before the most important election we have – election for President of the United States – election for who’s going to be the Commander in Chief. And you have a family involved with all kinds of foreign business interests and we don’t get to hear that story.”
Jordan pointed to a letter, signed by 51 former intelligence officials, that claimed the Hunter Biden laptop story sounded like something from a Russian disinformation campaign. “That letter became the basis for Big Tech and Big Media to suppress this story and keep it from We The People in the run up to our most important election.”

Confirmation of the laptop’s authenticity by the mainstream media is a particularly sweet victory for Senators Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Ron Johnson (R-WI), who issued a report on the Biden family’s suspicious business dealings in September 2020 (before the Post broke the story about the laptop).
Democrats, panicked that the report would cost Joe Biden the presidency, actually claimed Grassley and Johnson were working on behalf of Russian agents. As Democrats gathered for a vote in an attempt to censor the exposé before its release, Senator Ron Wyden (R-OR) described the report as an example of “the spread of Russian propaganda, and the pathway it’s following from Russian agents through the United States Senate to the American public.”
Upon its release, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) said, “The Kremlin must be very pleased.”
