What has Hillary Clinton accomplished? The query is baffling both ardent Clinton haters as well as the former Secretary’s closest supporters, with either side equally struggling to recall even a single positive moment. Not surprisingly, many supporters have mentally traveled decades to seek out an accomplishment.
A recent list by Politico, which seems to focus primarily on college accomplishments, read more like an impressive young person’s first professional C.V. than a serious presidential candidate’s resume.
The new Hillary Clinton, not to be confused with the southern drawled Hillary who waxed poetic regarding growing up in a conservative home, has taken the unique direction of citing her FLOTUS experience to bolster credibility. Unfortunately for Hillary, the truth of what occurred during those 8 years certainly won’t make any Democrat happy.
With the amount of African American politicians and community organizers endorsing Hillary and praising her rhetoric on crime reform, you could almost forget most of the policies in need of reform started during Bill Clinton’s presidency.
The Clintons reigned over America during the largest increase in federal and state prison inmates in American history. Bill Clinton, who has been called the “first black president,” supported the 100-to-1 sentencing disparity for crack versus powder cocaine, which produced staggering racial injustice in sentencing and boosted funding for drug-law enforcement.
In addition, the Clintons championed a $30 billion crime bill that created dozens of new federal capital crimes, mandated life sentences for three-time offenders, and authorized more than $16 billion for state prison grants and the expansion of police forces. When the Clintons would finally leave the White House, the United States had the highest rate of incarceration in the world.
As Ohio State University law professor Michelle Alexander wrote in The Root, “Human rights watch reported that in seven states, African Americans constituted 80 – 90 percent of all drug offenders sent to prison, even though they were no more likely than whites to use or sell illegal drugs. Prison admissions for drug offenses reached a level in 2000 for Afican Americans more that 26 times the level in 1983.”
As FLOTUS, Hillary’s legacy is one of complete duplicitousness and vulgarity, and she will be better remembered for the alternative life-style the first couple subjected America to during this period. The time did, however, teach the Democrats a very important election rule: you can still get the minority vote while you’re creating racist policies – you just have to play the sax and have sympathetic rhetoric in the public eye.
As Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton continued her statistically unlikely tradition of being wrong about everything.
In 2009, in the wake of a mass resurgence in violence and political corruption, Hillary Clinton traveled to Iraq. “Let me assure you and repeat what President Obama said, we are committed to Iraq, we want to see a stable, sovereign, self-reliant Iraq,” Hillary told a fearful crowd at a town hall meeting at the U.S. Embassy in the capital. Clinton called recent attacks a sign that extremists are afraid the Iraqi government is succeeding.
Hillary Clinton never returned to Iraq. The country now has been split into three separate regions, with the majority of U.S supplied weaponry and equipment falling into the hands of ISIS or Iran. Thanks to the decision to abandon Iraq, thousands of American soldiers died in vain and the effect was to assist Sunni militant groups and expand the territorial influence of Iran.
After visiting Afghanistan, despite the advice of the military, Hillary supported a major reduction in American Troops. 74 percent of American casualties in Afghanistan have occurred since the dramatic pull out of troops. For a candidate to vote for America to enter into two wars, supporting abrupt exits and a discontinuation of meaningful contact for the sake of garnering an anti-war reputation is the peak of hypocrisy. The Afghani people and remaining American soldiers still in Afghanistan pay for Clinton’s double-speak each and every day.
Who could forget when a beaming Hillary – after hearing Muammar Ghaddafi was brutally tortured, publically sodomized in the street for sticks and pipes, and finally killed – gloated “We came, we saw, he died” ?
Proud of her accomplishment of supporting Sunni rebels – the kind that enjoy shouting “Allahu Akbar” and raping their enemies – Hillary looked forward to the positive outcome of the Libyan Civil war. She characterized the administration’s response as “smart power at its best.”
With Gadhafi dead, al Qaeda became the largest victor in the conflict, taking over a large percentage of the region. The UN estimates 400,000 Libyans have fled their homes to escape the fighting, while the unofficial website Libya Body Count estimates 2,825 people were killed last year. Complicating Libya’s political landscape further are armed groups claiming allegiance to ISIL leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, including the fighters controlling the majority of Eastern territory.
The country once known as Libya is no more. The Department of State warns U.S. citizens against all travel to Libya and recommends that U.S. citizens currently in Libya depart immediately.
In a tenure marked by the destabilization or complete destruction of the majority of Middle Eastern countries, Hillary supporters have impressed with their desperate attempt to find a silver lining.
Aside from a speech regarding female empowerment (remember the hundreds of millions of dollars the Clinton foundation received from Saudi Arabia, where women aren’t allowed to drive and are required to present three male witnesses to accuse someone of rape? ) and a temporary, barely functional cease fire between Hamas and Israel, no one has been able to provide a legitimate example of an accomplishment.
Ultimately, the Democrats placed the bar on the ground with Barrack Obama, a man whose political experience was 768 days in the Senate. It would appears having an accomplishment is no longer a requirement to become President of the United States.
Editor’s note: Couple of things, Hillary seems to want to take credit for killing Osama bin Laden. It wasn’t the State Department conducting that hunt, it was the CIA and the military. And they had been hunting long before she arrived on the scene. All she did was get out of the way.
She also claims credit for the CHiP program which insures 8 million children. According to Dick Morris, after Hillary’s universal health care crashed and burned, it was Republican Bob Dole who introduced the bill for this insurance. Hillary did not support it. The Democrats re-wrote the bill and that is what passed. The CHiP program was never Hillary’s goal.
