
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In the wake of the FBI&#8217;s raid on former President Donald Trump&#8217;s Mar-a-Lago home, Rep. Scott Perry, R-Pa., has stressed that he is in no way under an investigation by the bureau, despite the recent seizure of his cellphone.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">&#8220;While that story blew up, I heard from my attorneys, who talked directly to the Department of Justice, who said that I, their client, am not a target of this investigation,&#8221; Perry told Fox News&#8217;s &#8220;Tucker Carlson Tonight.&#8221;</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Perry said that before it was confiscated, he was given a warrant as agents asked for his personal cellphone.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The chair of the House Freedom Caucus told &#8220;Tucker Carlson Tonight&#8221; that the FBI showed up while he was traveling with his family and confiscated the device.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">&#8220;If they would have just contacted my attorney, certainly, we would have provided the information necessary, as required by law,&#8221; Perry said.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">&#8220;And that would have been the end of it,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;But they want this spectacle. They want this show. They want the intimidation.&#8221;</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Perry&#8217;s point of clarity comes on the heels of the unprecedented raid on former President Trump&#8217;s Mar-a-Lago home.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">&#8220;I think that they&#8217;re scared to death that President Donald Trump is going to come back in 2024 and win reelection,&#8221; Perry said. &#8220;And they&#8217;re going to do every single thing that they can to make sure that doesn&#8217;t happen, including make up some kind of charges from the National Archives.&#8221;</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Both the FBI and the DOJ have remained tight-lipped about the collection of Perry&#8217;s phone. As to the raid on Mar-a-Lago in an attempt to counter Trump’s accusations of abuse of power and possible wrongdoing, Joe Biden’s AG Merrick Garland said late Thursday that he had asked a judge to unseal both the search warrant justifying Monday&#8217;s search as well as the receipt of what was taken.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Keystone State congressman ;has not cooperated ;with the Jan. 6 committee, which has claimed that he was one of several GOP House members who angled for a pardon from Trump. ;</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Perry has denied the committee&#8217;s allegation.</p>
