Rosie and Jeffrey drag press into tabloid journalism

Rosie O’Donnell moved out of America, and Jeffrey Epstein moved out of this world—permanently. In her latest spat with President Trump, Rosie linked the two stories by gratuitously attaching a photo of Trump and Epstein to her digital hit piece.

The only common thread between Rosie and Jeffrey is that both stories are old news, uninteresting, and relatively meaningless in terms of the issues of the day. They are the grist for tabloid journalism. Individually, neither story is worthy of major attention, and together they are less than the sum of their parts. Combined, they are like mixing stale bread with flat soda. Tabloid gold? Perhaps. Meaningful news? Not quite.

The Epstein Story

Jeffrey Epstein was a vile sexual predator who somehow turned depravity into an elite networking tool. He was arrested, jailed, and conveniently moved on to the great unknown—most likely by his own hand (though the conspiratorial crowd insists otherwise). Nothing fuels a conspiracy quite like sex and the death of a wealthy man. Add an “exclusive guest list” of celebrity sleepovers and voilà—an instant thriller with poor lighting and an implausible plot. More Hollywood noir than legitimate news.

Then there was “the list.” Trump did not release it during his first term. Biden gave it a pass during his four years in office. Conspiratorial extremists were left to draw their own conclusions with crayons. Folks who knew nothing claimed to know everything. Trump promised to reveal it during his campaign, only to have Attorney General Pam Bondi emerge from the file room to declare, “There is no list.” It was never a thing. Also, Epstein really did kill himself.

Some in the MAGA crowd went into instant meltdown. Years of Reddit threads and hand-crafted memes were obliterated. Some claimed it fractured the MAGA movement. I doubt it. A few loud voices hyperventilating online do not constitute a critical mass. Unless someone uncovers real evidence that Trump engaged in illegal activities with Epstein and an underage girl, this story is as dead as … Epstein.

The Rosie Story

Now, onto Rosie—America’s self-exiled megaphone of angst. She comes across as an angry and bitter has-been. One would expect the media to ignore her and let her stew in her own toxicity. But no—she is somehow still headline material. Who actually cares? Apparently, just enough people with The Star and National Enquirer subscriptions and a taste for conspiracy blogs to keep the feud alive.

Rosie and Trump have been flinging mud at each other for so long, it has practically become a seasonal sport. She is offended. He is outraged. He threatens to revoke her citizenship. He cannot do that—and will not. Most people know that Trump never misses a chance to toss verbal grenades. It is his style—one that I have criticized in previous commentaries. Her only tactic is throwing shade and waiting to see if Trump responds. Unfortunately, he always does. And just like that, she returns to the spotlight, basking in the glow of his outrage.

Her social media reads like the rants of a plaintiff in a nasty divorce — with Wi-Fi and far too much Chardonnay. Petty but grudgingly creative. The photo of Trump and Epstein? That is not commentary. It is pathetic Internet trolling.

Rosie’s latest role seems to be that of professional victim. A Woman? Boo hoo. A Lesbian? Boo hoo. Exile in Europe? Boo hoo. And this from a lady with a reported net worth of $80 million. She lives as proof of the old adage that money does not convey happiness.

I understand that this kind of drama sells. That is why The Star, National Enquirer, and the occasional doomsday YouTuber rake in views. What baffles me is why mainstream media dips into this kiddie pool of journalism nonsense.

Put Epstein and Rosie together, and you have a Shakespearean tragedy written in glitter pen—A Tale of Two Pities. President Trump has better things to do, and Rosie O’Donnell ought to find some — or seek therapy.

Yes, I have wasted my morning reflecting on stories that belong in the tabloids—or better yet, the recycle bin. Not because I care about Donald versus Rosie, but because serious news outlets continue to place this garbage on their front burners.

So, there it is.
