
<p>According to Fox News analyst Gregg Jarrett, the story behind the Russia collusion narrative is not simply a tale of political rivalry or confusion. It is a documented account of how senior government officials learned early on that the claims against Donald Trump were false, yet continued promoting them anyway. Jarrett argues that the newly uncovered documents, interviews, burn bag discoveries, and declassified intelligence show that James Comey, John Brennan, and others were aware that the Russia narrative began as a political operation approved by Hillary Clinton. He writes that these findings reveal “a coordinated plan to prevent and destroy Donald Trump’s presidency.” The evidence suggests a deliberate conspiracy involving top officials who misused federal power in a manner that threatened the Constitution itself.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">How Comey’s Burn Bag Notes Exposed the Truth</h3>



<p>The most explosive evidence came from the burn bags discovered by FBI Director Kash Patel. These bags were normally used to destroy sensitive materials. Instead, thousands of Russia related documents had been sealed inside them and hidden away. Patel wrote that his team “just uncovered burn bags filled with hidden Russia Gate files.”</p>



<p>Among those files were Comey’s own handwritten notes on an FBI notepad marked “Director.” One note, dated September 26, 2016, contained the phrase “HRC plan to tie Trump.” This was not speculation or rumor. It was Comey’s confirmation that he knew Hillary Clinton had approved a plan to connect Trump to Russia for political advantage. The burn bags held the notes that Comey had intended for destruction. Jarrett explained that they were “supposed to go up in smoke” and would have, if not for an unknown failure in the incineration process.</p>



<p>Comey later told Congress he had “no recollection whatsoever” of such a plan. The note contradicts that testimony entirely.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Brennan’s Briefing at the White House</h3>



<p>The initials “JB” appear next to the information in Comey’s note. Jarrett argues that this almost certainly refers to John Brennan, who was CIA Director at the time. Brennan’s own declassified handwritten notes showed that intelligence sources had identified Clinton’s plan to “vilify Donald Trump by stirring up a scandal claiming interference by the Russian security services.”</p>



<p>Brennan did not keep this intelligence to himself. He briefed President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, Attorney General Loretta Lynch, FBI Director James Comey, and Director of National Intelligence James Clapper. According to Jarrett, Brennan had “disclosed the shocking information” at an urgent White House meeting.</p>



<p>Yet no one at that meeting warned the American people. CIA spokeswoman Liz Lyons later said the newly declassified files reveal that “the Hillary Clinton campaign worked to plant the Trump Russia narrative in the press with her direct approval.” Ratcliffe added that the same documents showed “a coordinated plan to prevent and destroy Donald Trump’s presidency.”</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Intelligence Officials Warned the FBI in a Referral Memo</h3>



<p>On September 7, 2016, U.S. intelligence officials sent the FBI a referral memo recommending that Clinton’s plan be investigated. Instead of acting on it, Comey concealed it. Jarrett noted that disclosure of the memo would have “unmasked Hillary’s treachery and exonerated Trump of any wrongdoing.” Instead, Comey used the Russia narrative as the basis for Crossfire Hurricane.</p>



<p>When questioned by Congress years later, Comey said he could not remember any such referral. The notes, the memo, and internal FBI records now prove otherwise.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Emails That Show the Strategy Behind the Operation</h3>



<p>The scheme was not limited to internal discussions. Declassified intelligence released by DNI Tulsi Gabbard included emails from Leonard Benardo of the Open Society Foundations. The emails described efforts to create messaging about “Trump and Russian hackers hampering U.S. elections” as a distraction from Clinton’s email scandal.</p>



<p>One Benardo email stated, “[I]t will be a long term affair to demonize Putin and Trump.” In another, he wrote that “HRC approved Julia’s idea about Trump and Russian hackers hampering U.S. elections.”</p>



<p>The newly declassified intelligence concluded that these emails were “likely authentic.” FBI analysts told Durham’s team that their best assessment was that the emails were genuine and reflected actual planning inside Clinton’s political network.</p>



<p>Senator Chuck Grassley pointed out the suspicious effort to hide these records. He said on television that “some of these documents, emails and thumb drives were in trash bags or what you call burn bags” and added that this showed how far officials would go “to cover up and avoid embarrassment.”</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Brennan’s Memo and Administration Coordination</h3>



<p>After reviewing the intelligence, Brennan prepared a memo to defensively brief Obama and senior officials. He referred the information to them because it showed that the Russia collusion narrative was likely a political operation.</p>



<p>Ratcliffe later said that the documents reveal officials had “sought to delegitimize the 2016 election” in a way that “subverted the will of the American people.” Gabbard said that Obama era intelligence leaders ran “a years long coup” against Trump.</p>



<p>Alexa Henning, deputy chief of staff to Gabbard, publicly criticized media attempts to dismiss the intelligence. When the New York Times suggested the documents were fabricated, she responded with, “Are we really doing this?” She added that “no one is buying your bulls–t anymore.”</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Evidence That Comey Expected Clinton to Win</h3>



<p>Comey’s emails also revealed his expectation that Clinton would win the presidency. He wrote that he would soon be working for a president who would be “very grateful.” Jarrett explained that this expectation influenced his decisions.</p>



<p>Comey cleared Clinton of email crimes on July 5, 2016. That same day, the FBI was meeting with Christopher Steele, whose anti Trump dossier was funded by Clinton and the DNC. FBI agents had already debunked Steele’s claims. Yet Comey used the dossier as justification to expand Crossfire Hurricane.</p>



<p>This pattern shows intent. Comey saw Clinton as the likely next president and acted in ways that would benefit her and harm her opponent.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">The Burn Bag Files Reveal a Larger Operation</h3>



<p>The burn bags contained much more than Comey’s notes. They included files related to Crossfire Hurricane, the January 6 breach, the Mar a Lago raid, and Arctic Frost. Arctic Frost began under Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray in 2022 and secretly collected nearly 200 subpoenas targeting more than 400 Republicans, including senators and media figures.</p>



<p>Grassley said the attempt to hide the files revealed “the deep state here in this city of Washington.” He described it as “an island surrounded by reality” where officials would “do anything to cover up” their conduct.</p>



<p>These documents are now part of a grand jury investigation in South Florida that spans three presidential elections.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Other Key Figures and Their Roles</h3>



<p>Loretta Lynch was briefed by Brennan about the Clinton plan. She took no action to stop it or inform Congress.</p>



<p>James Clapper was present for Brennan’s White House briefing. He said nothing publicly, even as Crossfire Hurricane accelerated.</p>



<p>Jake Sullivan, who later became Biden’s national security adviser, told Durham he “could not conclusively rule out” that the Clinton plan existed.</p>



<p>Julianne Smith, a Clinton foreign policy adviser, admitted she might have heard discussions about using Russia claims to distract from Clinton’s email problems.</p>



<p>FBI analysts judged the Benardo emails “likely authentic,” but Comey’s FBI refused to fully vet them.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">A Direct Threat to the Constitution</h3>



<p>The evidence shows that senior officials knew the Russia collusion story came from a political operation. Yet they allowed it to be used to justify surveillance, leaks, investigations, and national upheaval. Jarrett argues that this was a deliberate abuse of power and that “the law enforcers became the lawbreakers.”</p>



<p>The saga was not only an attack on Donald Trump. It was an attack on the American people, who were deceived by officials sworn to uphold the truth. As Jarrett wrote, “The enemy is within.”</p>



<p>A reckoning, he warns, is coming.</p>
