President Joe Biden described Vice President Kama Harris as a “work in progress” last year, writes author Chris Whipple in his upcoming book The Fight of his Life. ;

“Biden was annoyed,” explains Whipple. “He hadn’t asked Harris to do anything ;he ;hadn’t done as vice president – and she’d begged him for the voting rights assignment.”

Biden granted Harris control over the southern border in March 2021 and announced her as head of election reform and voting rights issues in June. To date, she has failed to make headway on either project.

Harris’s voting rights initiative was a flop in Congress and, as reported last week, border arrests reached an all-time high of nearly 2.4 million for the fiscal year ending September 2022. ;

“At some point, you know, we are going to the border,” said Harris awkwardly during an interview with NBC reporter Lester Holt last summer. “We’ve been to the border. So this whole thing about the border. We’ve been to the border. We’ve been to the border.”

Holt then pointed out that Harris herself had never visited the border.

President Biden expressed some annoyance that Second Gentleman of the United States ;Douglas Emhoff complained about the tasks assigned to his wife, adds Whipple. Biden, having served as Vice President under President Barack Obama from 2009-2017, no doubt understands the position and its expectations.

The friction between Biden and Harris was palpable in November 2021 when he refused to speak with her while they were volunteering at a soup kitchen in Washington, DC, notes Whipple.

Also included in the book are quotes from former employees describing Harris as a “bully” and a “soul-destroying” boss. ;One individual who worked under Harris when she served as California’s Attorney General said there was “a sense of paranoia in that office” because “you never knew when she was going to snap at you.”

The Fight of his Life is scheduled to hit shelves on January 17th. Already, White House spokesperson Robyn Patterson confirmed the Administration would not be ‘engaging in confirmations or denials’ regarding information in the book. She did, however, confirm that all materials provided to Whipple were authentic.

Whipple himself described the Biden Administration as “the most battened-down, disciplined, leak-proof White House in modern times,” adding that Biden and Harris refused to answer any question that was not provided in writing.
