Patel Confirms 274 FBI Agents Infiltrated Jan. 6 Protest – Says Wray Lied to Congress
Patel clarifies what happened on January 6
FBI Director Kash Patel has issued a stunning clarification about the role of federal agents at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021. According to Patel, 274 plainclothes FBI agents were present during the unrest, but they were not deployed in any standard investigative capacity. Instead, he said they were ordered into the crowd after the Metropolitan Police declared the situation a riot. Patel admitted this was improper and directly contradicted the bureau’s own guidelines.
“Agents were sent into a crowd control mission after the riot was declared by Metro Police – something that goes against FBI standards,” Patel told Fox News Digital. “This was the failure of a corrupt leadership that lied to Congress and to the American people about what really happened.”
Patel stressed that the decision to put agents into such a role was not only a violation of policy but also a betrayal of the public’s trust. He said agents themselves were frustrated by being sent into a chaotic and dangerous situation for which they were not trained.
The size and scope of FBI involvement
The figure of 274 agents is not small, and its revelation has shaken public confidence. That number included not only personnel who were in the crowd at the Capitol but also those responding to related threats, such as the pipe bombs discovered near the Republican and Democratic National Committee headquarters the night before.
Patel emphasized that the decision to send agents into the fray was hidden from lawmakers and the public. “Thanks to agents coming forward, we are now uncovering the truth. We are fully committed to transparency, and justice and accountability continues with this FBI,” he said.
Although the Justice Department’s inspector general insisted in a 2022 report that there were no undercover FBI employees in the protest crowds, the report admitted that 26 confidential human sources were present, with four of them actually entering the Capitol building. This revelation highlights how the bureau’s leadership played word games, using terms like “plainclothes” versus “undercover” to blur the truth.
Wray’s testimony under scrutiny
Former FBI Director Christopher Wray has been accused of misleading Congress about these facts. In November 2023 testimony before the House Judiciary Committee, Wray said, “If you are asking if the violence at the Capitol was part of some operation orchestrated by FBI sources or agents, the answer is no.” Yet he refused to provide clear answers about how many agents or informants were embedded in the crowd.
Patel said this kind of language was intentionally evasive. “Why it took a ton of time and questioning in Congress for the director to get that point is what I’m trying to eliminate from the FBI,” Patel explained. “If Congress asks you a question under oath, whether or not there were sources in or around Jan. 6th at the Capitol, you as the director of the FBI need to know that and not deflect and give a D.C. answer.”
To many, Patel’s remarks confirm that Wray deliberately stonewalled Congress. What was presented as a denial of involvement now looks more like a carefully constructed lie meant to obscure the scope of FBI operations that day.
Trump demands accountability
President Donald Trump reacted furiously to the revelation. In a Truth Social post, he wrote, “It was just revealed that the FBI had secretly placed, against all Rules, Regulations, Protocols, and Standards, 274 FBI Agents into the Crowd just prior to, and during, the January 6th Hoax.” He continued, “This is different from what Director Christopher Wray stated, over and over again! That’s right, as it now turns out, FBI Agents were at, and in, the January 6th Protest, probably acting as Agitators and Insurrectionists, but certainly not as ‘Law Enforcement Officials.’”
Trump demanded to know the identity and purpose of each of the agents. He also stressed the injustice faced by his supporters who were charged and jailed for their presence at the Capitol. “Many Great American Patriots were made to pay a very big price only for the love of their Country,” Trump said. He has since pardoned or commuted the sentences of those prosecuted for involvement in the events of that day.
Trump also tied this scandal to a broader pattern of corruption in FBI leadership, reminding Americans of both James Comey and Christopher Wray. “Christopher Wray, the then Director of the FBI, has some major explaining to do. That’s two in a row, Comey and Wray, who got caught LYING, with our Great Country at stake. We can never let this happen to America again!”
A deeper weaponization of the FBI
The involvement of nearly 300 agents in plainclothes raises fundamental questions. Was the FBI merely responding to a crisis, or was the presence of these agents part of a broader political operation aimed at Donald Trump and his supporters? Critics point out that these revelations fit into a long pattern of the bureau being weaponized under Democratic leadership.
Rep. Barry Loudermilk, who leads a new House subcommittee investigating January 6, raised the most troubling question. “With that many paid informants being in the crowd, we want to know how many were in the crowd, how many were in the building, but I also want to know, were they paid to inform or instigate?” he asked.
The inspector general’s report insists that FBI informants were not permitted to break laws or incite the crowd, but the sheer presence of so many government agents in a protest that turned violent suggests a sinister level of involvement.
Kash Patel’s admission confirms that the FBI’s leadership lied to Congress and to the American people about the scope of its involvement on January 6. Hundreds of plainclothes agents were sent into the chaos, and the truth was hidden through misleading testimony and bureaucratic doublespeak. This is not simply mismanagement. It is evidence of a weaponized FBI, operating as a political tool against the sitting president and his supporters.
The consequences were severe. Patriots who loved their country were criminalized, while those in power covered up the real story. As Trump said, “We can never let this happen to America again.”
NP Editor: So a) the FBI never does this, b) 274 FBI agents suddenly are available for a “plainclothes” mission, c) their mission is what? Does the FBI do crowd control?
Sounds a bit like something pre-planned to me – like not having enough Capitol Police on hand, like the doors to the Capitol magically opening, like a whole lot of the coincidences that happened. And if you really REALLY look hard at the videos, you might be like me and see a rowdy crowd, but NOT a riot.

Larry, Joe (whoever you pretend to be today for the windbag post). Keystone Kash has never in his life ‘confirmed’ anything. He has in the past made many statements, most of them directly related to conspiracy theories, and this one appears to be no different as not just Wray, but also the DOJ inspector general has gone on record as saying there were no FBI agents authorized to attend the rally, only the 26 informants mentioned and none of those authorized to enter the Capitol. I realize that the windbag post aims to be as divisive as possible to stir up the base to support republicans, however using Patel as a trusted source of information, given his track record, is totally irresponsible-but then what else can we expect from the authors of this blog?
The easiest way to know if Patel is lying: are his lips moving?
First he claims undercover and inciting. That’s a lie. Trump told it too.
Now he claims they were there as called in after the Metro Police declared it a riot, but it’s wrong and they were upset at not being trained. First, if Federal Laws or National Security issues, the FBI can go in. Second, the real untrained police out there are The National Guard Trump Police Force.
When was Patel lying; the first ir second statement?
The info and the 26 embedded have been reported on before.
If Patel has the truth. an indictment should be forthcoming.
Or Patel can lie again.
The NP ed says it was patriots being rowdy. Over 140 injured cops say something else. The adjudicated court cases have the truth, the evidence, the testimonies proving it. This is a seditious conspiracy hidden inside a riot hidden inside a protest. Does the NP editor not see a seditious conspiracy either?
Get an indictment, go to court and quit letting the right wing rags be your court of the mob. Especially if you keep telling one whopper on top on another. Trial by FOX or NYPost is bogus. Patel is a serial liar.
One doesn’t have to look any further than the committee that dad all these Patriots. That’s what we called a kangaroo Court in the old days. President Trump is doing better probably than anyone that’s ever been there before as president of this great action. Equal justice for all. I pray the investigations go on and let the hammer fall where it may. Guilt or innocence will be proven. President Trump has picked some fine people for his Cabinet. Director Patel, homeland, security, director, Christi Noem and WAR department director, Pete Hetseth. It is impossible to legitimately complain about any of the four when compared to the past four years and that administration. See if you can grab some common sense, I know you would benefit.
“Once upon a time, in the Land of the Free, there lived a wizard called Kash the Distinguished Discoverer,” reads the opening line of The Plot Against The King. It’s the first weird Patel’s propaganda for children series of books written by President Trump’s FBI pick. Cash Hotel.
Kash the wizard sucks up to his hero “King Donald” who destroys cleverly-named disguised characters like “Hillary Queenton”‘ and “Comma-la-la-la.” He labels the FBI as “slug stables in a shadowy corner of the castle,” run by “Keeper Komey.” Gosh, can he be my boss? I love a good stable. Another of his fractured propaganda fairytales 2000 Mules, that thoroughly debunked film asserting the 2020 election was rigged. Fucking fairy tale teller of lies, your FBI director, Cash Hotel. (you know, by the hour, no credit cards).
The biggest liars get the best jobs in Trumpistan. Trump has always said he can spot quality people a mile away and what better quality than the art of the lie combined with loyalty to tell Trump’s lies without batting an eye.
Not to worry, Cash Hotel says “no one else but Epstein got the girls. A thousand girls.” Crash done seen the files, but you can’t.” Sorry Crush, the victims tell another story, it’s called the truth, and you are a bogus liar and sycophant. What simpleton would look at Epstein, his life, his activities, and decide “nope, Epstein never shared even with his bestest friends.” I think Prince Andrew pretty much screwed the pooch on that lie for you Catchu Inhell. Of course, the victim mysteriously died by suicide.
Nope, Mr. Kash Patel is a seasoned grifter who has repeatedly exaggerated and lied to advance his own interests and those of President Trump. He exaggerates his own professional experience, provides testimony that a court said is not credible, and has oft peddled falsehoods, including his propaganda for children of all things. You know, Epstein went after 13-year olds, Poodlepatel grooms even younger targets.
He initially praised President Trump for his efforts to develop the COVID vaccine. Then he cast doubt on vaccine efficacy and even went as far as to encourage buying untested supplements backed by unfounded theories about imaginary vaccine dangers. In general, vaccines are safer than untested supplements, generally. And vaccines are certainly safer than catching covid. With over 22 billion doses given by 2022 —- yeah, it’s a killer all right. Severe outcomes are less than 5 per million, understood now, which is a miniscule risk in the scheme of things. ALTHOUGH the end number is still higher than desired. If everyone in the USA is vaccinated, that’s 1,700 serious outcomes, 34 per state on average, chances are you will not know anyone suffering, or even anyone knowing anyone suffering. But you do know people who got covid who are no longer with us, don’t you? We kill 45,000 with guns every year as a risk comparison…
Cruddle Puddle, under threat of perjury, claimed Trump authorized deployment of the National Guard on January 6, 2021, a fact contradicted by Acting Defense Secretary Miller’s testimony. Another time, the judge in the Anderson v. Griswold case found Patel was “not a credible witness” and his testimony was “not only illogical… but completely devoid of any evidence in the record.” He is an adjudicated liar in other words.
In his Federal questionnaire, Patel wrote that while working for the NSC, he was “responsible for formulating and implementing U.S. counterterrorism policy.” That’s a lie confirmed by Bolton. Patel said that while working for the ODNI, he “oversaw all 17 intelligence community agencies and prioritized intelligence collection to focus on hard targets and global threats.” His own writings during his time in office indicate that he did little on policy at all, mostly just tried to exonerate Flynn.
Patel claims to be an author of the four-page “Nunes Memo,” the only proof of that is Patel.
For his Senate Questionnaire, Patel claims he “collaborated on cases tied to the Benghazi attacks.” He claims to be a leading prosecutor. Former officials in the Justice Department’s National Security Division say Patel exaggerated his role in both the Justice Department and in the Benghazi case and was just “one of several line attorneys” supporting the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia. He left the Benghazi team after less than a year following complaints about Patel that reached senior Justice Department officials.
So, take it to court. Get an indictment. Quit blaming and shaming in the press and have the balls to go to court. I mean, consider the source on this. Kash, a liar above most liars. Yeah, look at the lies. This guy has balls to lie like this, let him take it to court.
Once upon there was a creature named Frankenstein. We all know how that ended. No actual brains. Just reactions. Frankenstein has resurfaced trying to make us all scared of him. That’s the real danger.
Donald Trump is a human being. Some people, if we can be sure they are human are hurting all of America with disgusting vitriol with absolutely no compassion for other human beings who have love and hope, unlike Frankenstein. Hate has no place on Planet Earth. We all need to go within and show more love and care for our fellow humans. Trump is doing that whether you see it or not. Yes, he is laying the real law down and at the same time saying loving things to the public, even those from other countries where it is appropriate. Anyone who is against Trump or hates him is a traitor.
We are no longer under the same government we had prior to Trump winning the 2024 election. HE has been President far longer than most people believe. Withe the Great Reste or the GSR or Nesara/Gesara coming withing weeks, most of us are going to be millionaires and never have financial problems again due to Donald Trump. If you want to hate Trump now, that is on you, and you will suffer for that. so many great and good things are about to happen to everyone on our planet it is hard to fathom. It is already happening in other countries and in some places in America. I have felt some of that in my accounts. More is coming. If you are a non-believer, you need to check in to a mental institution. The biggest problem is that those who hate Trump do not want to be made out to be wrong, and they cannot handle that. Weak people. So, here is love and forgiveness from me to all! Good luck to all.
Kash Patel is a brown person with tats. In our land of Trumpian brotherly love, we deport brown people with tats to foreign death camps that we pay for to “go within and show more love and care for our fellow humans. Trump is doing that.” Really, love and care by sending them to a jail to die? Or how about you indicating Trump is “saying loving things to the public, even those from other countries where it is appropriate” right before he launches a surprise attack, without proof, and kills entire boatloads of people coming from Venezuela in protected international waters. Shouldn’t Kash be deported to El Salvadore? One tat is a Jerusalem cross, sported by the Christian gang, where Kash, a brown guy raised Hindu seems out of place to sport a Christian cross given he took his oath of office not on the Christian bible but on the Bhagavad Gita, a Hindu scripture and a damn fine book. His other tat says “deus vult,” which is a Christian crusade rallying cry co-opted by far-right and alt-right group against Muslims. So, he’s a Hindu pretending to be a Christian who hates Muslims and wants to fit in with the alt-right. No baggage there. No hints of a liar. And look at the love, the love of white supremacy by a brown guy, go figure. Guess he thinks he gets a seat at the table.
Kash just can’t help but lie. Patel claims that the FBI “was planning January 6 for a year beforehand.” The DOJ Inspector General report found no evidence. Patel first claimed that 274 FBI agents were placed in the crowd to incite the 1/6 riot; Trump concurred and called for Wray’s arrest. Then Patel claimed that agents were sent in after the riot was declared. Which is the lie, but there is a lie there. And he is still at odds with a DOJ report stating 26 informants were present, not to incite violence, but to gather intelligence, with perhaps four entering the building. That’s been in the record for years, but Kash didn’t seem to know. Patel testified that he didn’t know what was happening at the FBI, despite credible whistleblower allegations that he directed a purge of senior officials. Doesn’t he run the FBI? In his book Government Gangsters, Patel mischaracterized the origins of the FBI’s investigation into Russian election interference. He claimed the Steele dossier, which was compiled later, was the central piece of evidence, ignoring the fact that the probe was opened based on a tip from Australia. Special Counsel John Durham’s report also confirmed the legitimacy of the probe’s opening.
Yes, to forgive is divine. But to be lied to, time and time again, and then forgive, seems counterproductive to a society where character actually matters. I think if you look you will see that the only time Kash lies is when he speaks. If silent, that’s as truthful as he gets. Based on the record. Based on facts.
The facts on Kash presented can be researched for validity; all look pretty good to me. Is PB really America First really……..
Some say I hate. Let them show us where I got my facts wrong. They don’t. Perhaps they can’t.
Dunger!!!! You’re being a racist.
Yep, he’s totally racist. I think he thinks he is perfect and only his race should be left alive. IMHO!
Some have said “you’re being a racist,” which is more accurate that those saying, “you racist pig.” Obviously I am not a racist, but yes, I could be being racist at times, including this, if what you are referring to is the use of the words “brown person(s).” I don’t think so though, at least that’s not the intent. Let me clarify: I said: “Kash Patel is a brown person with tats.” This is true. Is truth racist now? Doubtful. I continued: “In our land of Trumpian brotherly love, we deport brown people with tats to foreign death camps that we pay for.” This is true too. But racist? Perhaps. Ask Trump. He’s the one profiling brown people with tats as being criminals of the felon variety. And that’s my context; using “brown people” and “tats” to profile undocumented, illegal aliens, of the felony criminal, not just border jumping, kind. But we’ll deport the non-criminal undocumented too if we catch them in our profiling nets.
FYI: technically, scientifically, using AI, “brown people” really represents ethnicity, not race. Folks need to get their name-blame shame-game in gear to get their slams and slurs right. These folks are predominately of the Caucasoid race. From India, perhaps Mongoloid, Negroid too. Kash is probably Caucasian, although the jury is sort of out on that with him being Indian and all. You race baiters probably understand that better. I honestly don’t care. Plus, “brown people” may or may not be derogatory just as it may mean one or more of a myriad of cultures and ethnicities found across the entire globe.
In the case of this term, context matters. My context was to describe the illegal profiling that Trump has authorized ICE to use to target not only the “brown people,” in this case Latino’s, but also the use of tattoos as determinants of criminality. Thus, he deported a brown person with a rainbow tattoo. Grabbed another guy for a soccer team tat. Even a gay guy with a MOM tattoo. Here’s just a handful of the scores of innocents Trump has thrown into deep, dark, holes in the Earth:
A professional soccer player and youth coach was deported due to a tattoo of a soccer ball with a crown, which was misinterpreted as a gang symbol. It’s for his favorite team, Real Madrid.
A gay makeup artist who passed an asylum screening was deported after officials designated his tattoos of two crowns with the words “mom” and “dad” below them as evidence of gang membership.
A guy was arrested and deported despite having an autism awareness ribbon tattooed on his arm for his autistic brother. An ICE agent told Borges that the arrest was because of his tattoos. He was legally seeking asylum but that did not matter.
A 25-year-old with no prior criminal record was deported to Guantanamo Bay in February 2025. His mother stated he was targeted because of his tattoos.
A 26-year-old barber whose tattoos of a Jesus portrait, an infinity symbol, and his daughter’s name were considered gang-related by officials.
They are: Luis Carlos José Marcano Silva, Jerce Reyes Barrio, Andry Jose Hernandez Romero, Neri Alvarado Borges, and Jhoan Bastidas. They are real people.
If we sent them to El Salvador, we paid that country to house them in one of the most inhumane prisons on the planet. They may be dead already. The risk of death from disease or violence is radically high. As in chances are we sent these guys to die for a tat and a minimum wage job after a $250 misdemeanor for jumping the border. We are just not sure that they did anything else, there is no court trial, no transparency, no warrants even. We just don’t know. But we do know where we sent them, for a tat.
You call me a racist for telling you what you should already know you are doing in the name of America and who you are targeting. You say “criminals.” The actions say “brown people with tats.” And we put them in a dark hole where the sun don’t shine and they may never see the light of day, ever again.
Yeah, I am the racist here. Sure.
