<p>In an interview on Israeli television, close Obama adviser David Axelrod said Obama considers himself &#8220;the closest thing to a Jew that has ever sat in this office.  ;For people to say that I am anti-Israel, or, even worse, anti-Semitic, it hurts.&#8221;  ;Unfortunately, most observers don&#8217;t see it and U.S.- Israeli relations are at an all time low.  ;For starters, being at the forefront of liberalism the president should have known that it&#8217;s no longer considered acceptable to refer to someone as &#8220;a Jew.&#8221; The politically correct way of referring to someone who is Jewish is to say, &#8220;a Jewish person.&#8221; The fact that Obama neglected this speaks volumes. ;</p>

<div>If you want to match &#8220;words&#8221; and &#8220;deeds&#8221;  ;(my old mentor used to preach to me, if your words match your deeds you are a man of integrity), take the recent situation where Obama threatened to <a href="http://www.jewishpress.com/news/breaking-news/obama-threatening-to-abandon-israel-at-un-security-council/2015/03/20/">abandon Israel in the United Nations</a>.  ;By all accounts Obama appeared to be aligning with radical Muslim nations against Israel, certainly not with the Jewish population.</div>

<div>Trust between Prime Minister ;Netanyahu and President Obama have eroded to the point where ;Netanyahu came to the U.S. and spoke <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/video/world/middleeast/100000003547828/netanyahus-full-speech-before-congress.html">directly to Congress</a> ;attempting to thwart the Obama administrations attempts to make a nuclear deal with these countries that would pose a real and immediate threat to Israel as a nation and its people. ;</div>

<div>In our opinion, this bizarre statement by Axelrod (ostensibly from Obama) shows how detached President Obama is from reality. We have no doubt he believes it and really doesn&#8217;t understand why others don&#8217;t. If questioned, perhaps he&#8217;d take the Marie Harf approach and claim that his pronouncement was &#8220;too nuanced&#8221; for us to understand. ;</div>
