Obama Compares Modern Terrorism to the Crusades; Ted Cruz is Outraged

<p>Senator and GOP presidential candidate Ted Cruz calls President Obama an &&num;8220&semi;apologist&comma;&&num;8221&semi; someone who lacks the backbone to stand up and say that Islamic terrorism is the biggest threat to our country&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&&num;8220&semi;At times President Obama has acted as an apologist for radical Islam&comma;&&num;8221&semi; said Ted Cruz&comma; speaking to Fox News&&num;8217&semi; Neil Cavuto&period; During the interview&comma; Cruz reminded us about something Obama said last year during a speech at a prayer breakfast&colon;&nbsp&semi;&ldquo&semi;They are committing acts of terror&comma; but Christians and Jews have committed acts of terror as well&comma;&&num;8221&semi; said Obama&comma; citing&nbsp&semi;the Inquisition and the Crusades&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Ted Cruz was quick to point out the fallacy of Obama&rsquo&semi;s argument&colon; it&rsquo&semi;s the same one used by our enemies&period;&nbsp&semi;&ldquo&semi;That argument is the exact same argument that is made by the terrorists&comma;&rdquo&semi; said Cruz&period; &ldquo&semi;ISIS when they are beheading and crucifying Christians&comma; they invoke the Crusades and the Inquisition&period;&rdquo&semi;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&&num;8220&semi;Now last I checked&comma;&&num;8221&semi; says Ted Cruz&comma; &&num;8220&semi;the Crusades ended 900 years ago&period; I don&rsquo&semi;t think it is asking too much to ask this president to stay in the current millennium&period;&&num;8221&semi; Cruz also reminded us that the&nbsp&semi;King of Jordan was supposed to attend that prayer breakfast&comma; but was forced to fly home early when ISIS captured a Jordanian pilot&comma; threw him in a cage&comma; and lit it on fire&period;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
