Senator and GOP presidential candidate Ted Cruz calls President Obama an “apologist,” someone who lacks the backbone to stand up and say that Islamic terrorism is the biggest threat to our country.

“At times President Obama has acted as an apologist for radical Islam,” said Ted Cruz, speaking to Fox News’ Neil Cavuto. During the interview, Cruz reminded us about something Obama said last year during a speech at a prayer breakfast: ;“They are committing acts of terror, but Christians and Jews have committed acts of terror as well,” said Obama, citing ;the Inquisition and the Crusades.

Ted Cruz was quick to point out the fallacy of Obama’s argument: it’s the same one used by our enemies. ;“That argument is the exact same argument that is made by the terrorists,” said Cruz. “ISIS when they are beheading and crucifying Christians, they invoke the Crusades and the Inquisition.” ;

“Now last I checked,” says Ted Cruz, “the Crusades ended 900 years ago. I don’t think it is asking too much to ask this president to stay in the current millennium.” Cruz also reminded us that the ;King of Jordan was supposed to attend that prayer breakfast, but was forced to fly home early when ISIS captured a Jordanian pilot, threw him in a cage, and lit it on fire. ;
