Obama Administration Used a 'False Narrative' to Sell Iran Deal to America

<p class&equals;"MsoNormal">It&rsquo&semi;s no secret that the Obama administration lied about the <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;punchingbagpost&period;com&sol;the-obama-administration-misleads-congress-with-iran-deal&sol;">Iran Deal<&sol;a>&period; The preliminary deal that was agreed by Congress in April was much different than the final agreement made in July&period; <span style&equals;"mso-spacerun&colon; yes&semi;">&nbsp&semi;<&sol;span><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p class&equals;"MsoNormal">But&comma; how did the administration get the public to support this deal in the first place&quest; The New York Times just exposed how Obama used story-tellers to sell a &ldquo&semi;often misleading or false&rdquo&semi; narrative to the public in a thorough article&period; The main author of this narrative was Obama&rsquo&semi;s deputy national security adviser Ben Rhodes&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p class&equals;"MsoNormal">&ldquo&semi;The way in which most Americans have heard the story of the Iran deal presented &hellip&semi; was largely manufactured for the purpose of selling the deal&comma;&rdquo&semi; wrote David Samuels for the New York Times&period; &ldquo&semi;The &ldquo&semi;story&rdquo&semi; of the Iran deal began in 2013&comma; when a &ldquo&semi;moderate&rdquo&semi; faction inside&nbsp&semi;the Iranian regime led by Hassan Rouhani beat regime &ldquo&semi;hard-liners&rdquo&semi; in an&nbsp&semi;election and then began to pursue a policy of &ldquo&semi;openness&comma;&rdquo&semi; which included a&nbsp&semi;newfound willingness to negotiate the dismantling of its illicit nuclear-&nbsp&semi;weapons program&period;&rdquo&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p class&equals;"MsoNormal">But in actuality&comma; the terms of this Iran deal were already outlined in as early as 2012&period; Starting in 2013&comma; Rhodes was part of the scheme to convince the public that Iran was open to negations&period; Evidently&comma; this had already been in the works for years&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p class&equals;"MsoNormal">Rhodes explains to Samuels how he was in involved in the deceitful marketing strategy&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p class&equals;"MsoNormal">&ldquo&semi;When I suggested that all this dark metafictional play seemed a bit&nbsp&semi;removed from rational debate over America&rsquo&semi;s future role in the world&comma; Rhodes nodded&period; &ldquo&semi;In the absence of rational discourse&comma; we are going to&nbsp&semi;discourse the &lbrack;expletive&rsqb; out of this&comma;&rdquo&semi; he said&period; &ldquo&semi;We had test drives to know&nbsp&semi;who was going to be able to carry our message effectively&comma; and how to use&nbsp&semi;outside groups like Ploughshares&comma; the Iran Project and whomever else&period; So&nbsp&semi;we knew the tactics that worked&period;&rdquo&semi; He is proud of the way he sold the Iran&nbsp&semi;deal&period; &ldquo&semi;We drove them crazy&comma;&rdquo&semi; he said of the deal&rsquo&semi;s opponents&comma;&rdquo&semi; wrote Samuels&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p class&equals;"MsoNormal">Thanks to the New York Times&comma; the public knows the truth&period; Rhodes was instructed by the Obama administration to push a false story to the media and they ran with it&period; This was all part of the ploy to paint Obama&rsquo&semi;s foreign policy &ldquo&semi;efforts&rdquo&semi; in a positive light&comma; while taking the focus away from the failure of Sunni Arab&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p class&equals;"MsoNormal">&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
