New Development in the ABC Debate Whistleblower Scandal

Since ABC News hosted the second presidential debate on September 10, speculation on the right side of the political divide has questioned the fairness of the moderators. Soon after the event the news came about an alleged whistleblower at the channel claiming that the debate was rigged in favor of Kamala Harris. The left went into denial and quickly put its “fact-checkers” to work to discredit the claims. Now comes an update from the conservative side that alleges the whistleblower is going official about the debate’s compromised nature.

On Friday (September 20), die-hard Trump supporter and MAGA conservative Laura Loomer – an investigative journalist and podcaster – announced on X that the anonymous ABC whistleblower gave her a copy of the official complaint filed with the Securities and Exchange Commissioner (SEC). The two complaint documents – whose screenshots were shared by Loomer – state:

“The complaint, seen below, states that ABC News and their Parent company Disney colluded with the @KamalaHarris Presidential Campaign to influence the Presidential debate on 9-10-24 and to further influence the outcome of the 2024 Presidential Election.”

The whistleblower’s statement from the complaint filed with the SEC specifies that the whistleblower is not a supporter of Donald Trump:

“…I am not a Donald Trump supporter and have never voted for Donald Trump.” The full statement of the complaint is included in Loomer’s X post.

In her X post, Loomer tagged ABC News, Disney, Kamala Harris, and the two debate moderators at ABC News – David Muir and Linsey Davis. She also copied the message to President Trump’s campaign.

Mainstream media have been silent on this development in the ABC debate scandal. On Monday (September 23), CBS affiliate KHOU11 repeated the left’s denial of the existence of any credible whistleblower while questioning the alleged affidavit circulated earlier by conservatives with the whistleblower’s details redacted. The story wrote:

There’s no evidence to support claims that an alleged ABC News whistleblower exists or that the affidavit they are said to have written is authentic.

However it did not mention Loomer’s post with the scans of the official complaints filed with the SEC. Loomer’s post, meanwhile, has received well over 2 million hits so far and India’s English-language daily Hindustan Times reported on it over the weekend.

On leftist social media, stories of the ABC whistleblower are reportedly being suppressed or censored. On September 20, Chronicles Magazine posted an article about the ABC whistleblower that ended as:

Until ABC News answers these concerns directly and transparently, it should be treated as a colluding political operative. The debate shenanigans were a deception intended to tilt the election in favor of its preferred candidate.

The admin then posted as a comment at the end of the article that it is “currently being blocked on Facebook for a bogus rule violation.”
