
<p>House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is under serious pressure to explain her inaction during the days leading up to the Capitol Riot on January 6. </p>



<p>“It has been widely reported and confirmed by multiple sources” that House Sergeant-at-arms Paul Irving denied Capitol Hill Police Chief Steven Sund’s January 4th offer to send National Guard troops to the Capitol, wrote four GOP lawmakers in a letter to Pelosi. ;</p>



<p>Irving, who reports directly to Pelosi, apparently thought it would ‘look bad’ to have armed guards present when lawmakers gathered to count electoral votes on January 6th. <strong>Sund reiterated his offer on January 6th as things started to turn south</strong>. <strong>But it took more than an hour to approve his request. </strong></p>



<p>The letter also notes that Pelosi’s House officers have “refused to comply with preservation and production requests to turn over materials relevant to the events surrounding the 6th.” Even more suspicious is Pelosi’s decision to singlehandedly appoint retired Army Lt. Gen. Russel Honoré to lead a 9/11-style investigation into the events leading up to and taking place on January 6th. <strong>Pelosi announced the appointment in a letter sent only to Demo</strong>c<strong>rats. </strong></p>



<p>“To the General’s credit, he has reached out to several Republicans to brief on his work to date,” wrote the lawmakers to Pelosi. “However, it is easy to understand why we and our Senate counterparts remain skeptical that any of his final recommendations will be independent and without influence from you.” </p>



<p>As House Speaker, it is Pelosi’s duty to ensure the safety of all employees and visitors inside the Capitol Complex<strong>. </strong></p>



<h4 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Therefore, she should be held responsible for the five deaths that occurred during the insurrection. </strong></h4>



<p>Ironically, Pelosi’s concern for lawmakers returned after Joe Biden’s inauguration. She has decided to keep 5,000 troops in the area until mid-March. She will also allocate additional funds for security at the Capitol Complex. Pelosi has also accused Republicans of trying to “deflect responsibility for the Capitol attack from Donald Trump.” </p>



<p>Two of the letter’s signatories “voted to overturn the results of a fair election,” added Pelosi’s Deputy Chief of Staff, Drew Hammill, and all four of them “voted against holding Donald Trump accountable for inciting the mob.” Hammill also claimed that Irving did not approach Pelosi or her team regarding Sund’s request to send in the National Guard before January 6th. </p>



<p>Shockingly, Pelosi awarded the Congressional Gold Medal to the <a href="https://punchingbagpost.com/liberal-activist-profits-off-capitol-riot/">Capitol police officers</a> who ‘protected’ lawmakers and civilians during the riot. </p>

<p><em>Rodney Davis (R-IL), ranking Republican on the House Committee on Administration, Jim Jordan (R-OH), ranking Republican on the House Judiciary Committee, James Comer (R-KY), ranking member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, and Devin Nunes (R-CA), senior Republican on the House Select Committee on Intelligence.</em></p>



<p><em>Irving was removed from duty after January 6th and Sund resigned. </em></p>



<p><strong>Author&#8217;s Note: </strong>As I have theorized in previous articles, it seems likely that Pelosi wanted January 6th to turn violent in order to increase the likelihood of a successful impeachment.</p>
