Nancy Pelosi Admits Dems Will Raise Taxes if They Win House Majority

<p>House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi &lpar;D-CA&comma;&rpar; has pledged to &&num;8220&semi;revisit&&num;8221&semi; the new tax cut package to put the &&num;8220&semi;middle class first&&num;8221&semi; and &&num;8220&semi;reduce the debt&&num;8221&semi; if Democrats get control of the House&period;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>She then went on to blame the Republicans for making the middle-class tax breaks temporary&period;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&&num;8220&semi;The reason they didn&&num;8217&semi;t make them permanent in the first place was that they were operating under reconciliation&comma; and under reconciliation&comma; they could only have so much addition to the debt&comma;&&num;8221&semi; said Pelosi&period; &&num;8220&semi;In their priorities&comma; they chose corporate America over middle-class families&comma; because they couldn&&num;8217&semi;t do both&period;&&num;8221&semi;&nbsp&semi;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>She also said that the Dems have plans to increase the corporate tax rate from the current 21 percent because the recent bonuses and raises haven&&num;8217&semi;t been enough&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&ldquo&semi;Some have gotten a bonus&comma; some have gotten a little raise&comma; but they haven&rsquo&semi;t shared &mdash&semi; it&rsquo&semi;s mostly been about buybacks and dividends and rewarding shareholders&comma;&rdquo&semi; said Pelosi&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>She claims that voters aren&&num;8217&semi;t happy with the &dollar;1&period;5 trillion tax cut program&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&ldquo&semi;They&rsquo&semi;re losing the public relations fight&comma;&rdquo&semi; said Pelosi&period; &ldquo&semi;They won the vote &hellip&semi; but they have not won the public opinion of it because the experience people have is something very contrary to misrepresentations they have made about it&period;&rdquo&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>House Majority Whip Steve Scalise argues that it&&num;8217&semi;s actually been quite the contrary&period;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&ldquo&semi;People are seeing more money in their paychecks&period; They like the direction we are headed&comma;&rdquo&semi; said Scalise on Fox News&period; &ldquo&semi;The last thing we need to do is what Pelosi said earlier this week&period;&rdquo&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>House Speaker Paul Ryan expressed similar sentiments that voters will reject the idea of raising taxes&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&ldquo&semi;They want to raise taxes on hard-working Americans&period; They want to raise taxes on businesses&period; They want to make it harder for American businesses to stay in America&comma;&rdquo&semi; said Ryan&period; &ldquo&semi;I can&rsquo&semi;t imagine that America will want that to happen&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>President Donald Trump also put Pelosi on blast for her Democratic party&&num;8217&semi;s plans to raise taxes&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Trump said &ldquo&semi;the strides we have been making have never&comma; ever been made like this before&comma;&rdquo&semi; and warned that they &ldquo&semi;can also disappear if you put fools and if you put the wrong people in&period;&rdquo&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&ldquo&semi;Nancy Pelosi said yesterday she wants to end the tax cuts and raise your taxes&period; I said&comma; &lsquo&semi;Tell me&comma; is that like good politics&quest;&&num;8221&semi; said Trump&period; &&num;8220&semi;That&rsquo&semi;s her thought&comma; that&rsquo&semi;s what they want to do&period; They want to raise your taxes&comma; end your tax cuts&period;&rdquo&semi;&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>Author&&num;8217&semi;s note&colon;<&sol;strong> Pelosi and the Dems are already planning to roll back some of the tax cuts&period; Most American voters won&&num;8217&semi;t be happy to hear this&period; This is why the mid-term elections are so important&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
