Democrat strategist James Carville recently said that his party has “too many preachy women.” That opinion must have entered his mind while watching MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski. She has become the personification of the hysterical left – a very preachy woman.
On a recent show, Mrs. Scarborough was literally pleading with guests to tell how Vice President Harris can appeal to Republicans currently leaning to President Trump. She went on an attack on half of the people in America who support Trump.
“Who are these people?”, she wondered. In a tone of desperation, she declared “there is something wrong with those people.” Directing her condemnation directly to those she demonized, Brzezinski said “you are lying to yourselves” … “you will ruin the country” … and it will be “on YOU.” So much for respecting the opinions of others … bringing us together … exercising civility in our political discourse. (Methinks Brzezinski may be better described as a “scolding woman.” But I digress.)
While among the more extreme in hysterical panic attacks, Brzezinski is not alone. The temperature of the left wing media has been increasing. The anti-Republican bias is more pronounced. The campaign rhetoric is hotter. The partisan actions of the left-leaning media are more oblivious.
In violation of basic journalism, CBS allowed Harris to change her answer after she flubbed a question. One-time shock jock Howard Stern openly confessed his biased purpose. He told Harris that he was nervous over the interview with her because “I wanted to make you look good.” He even criticized Saturday Night Live for poking fun at Harris. (I guess if a guy garners fame by tossing bologna slices on the bare butts of porn performers, we can expect any level of reportorial obscenity. But I digress again.)
It is possible – though not assured — that Trump could win the election. By some measure, he may have the odds in his favor. The very thought that the American voters might return Trump to the White House has Democrats and the left deranged – especially those on the radical left.
This comes as no surprise. In several past commentaries I suggested that as the election got closer, the language of the left would become more hostile and extreme. Although it has become more vicious and mendacious than I imagined, it is not likely to subside in the next few weeks. It is hard to imagine that the rhetoric from the left could get worse, but it seems like anything is possible.
The problem Democrats and the left-wing media are having is that they are out of arrows in their quivers. They have already said – repeatedly – everything they are saying now. They are repeating the same old narratives and talking points that they have been saying for months. Judging from the polls, they have not worked – and are not working — and will not work anymore than they had originally.
So, what do they have left? Ramp up the ugly language … the hyperbole … the fear mongering. And I expect that the hyperbolic fear mongering will get even worse over the course of the next few weeks.
The Mika Brzezinskis of the world have lost their collective minds … their dignity … and their integrity over an uncontrolled fear that Trump might — just might — win the election. One can only wonder how crazed these people will get if he does win.
So, there ‘tis.
