MSNBC resurrects Michael Moore

One of the faces that had mercifully disappeared from the small screen (and the big screen) is radical left-wing propaganda producer Michael Moore. His portly body usually appears in rumpled blue jeans and t-shirts with a baseball cap covering his usually unkempt hair. It is stagecraft consistent with his claim of representing the “little guy.” Moore is worth more than $30 million dollars. The outfit is nothing less than haberdashery hypocrisy.

I had not realized how long he had been away from frequent appearances on left-wing networks until he re-appeared this week on several MSNBC programs.

There are two things about Moore that have not changed. He spews left-wing cliches and talking points like a wind-up doll, and he does not deal with reality.

In his appearance on MSNBC’s primetime “Beat” show with Ari Melber, Moore predicted that the Democrats would have a big win in Tuesday’s Midterm Election. His initial statements were unequivocalable. When asked about Senate races, Moore assuredly predicted victory for every Democrat. He claimed that Democrats would win because the voters were smart. Listening to Moore, you would expect to see a blue wave.

In later appearances, Moore qualified his predictions a smidgeon — but still sees a big win for Democrats. He added an “if” – if Democrat voters turn out.

Moore bases his prognostications on the fact that there are more registered Democrats than there are registered Republicans. If they all turn out, the Democrats cannot lose, according to Moore.

In revealing the basis for his claim, Moore proves himself as an ignorant fool.

His biggest mistake is not seeming to realize that the largest voting block are the independents. They more than the Rs or the Ds will determine the outcomes of elections. They generally favor Republicans – this time more than ever, according to the polls.

Moore also seems to have a simplistic view that all registered voters cast all their ballots for the hometown candidates. Moore apparently does not remember the so-called “Reagan Democrats.” Trump attracted a significant number of cross-over Democrats – just as Biden benefited from cross-over Republicans. Moore has a childish view of reality when it comes to political dynamics.

Moore also claims that Republican victories in a country with more registered Democrats are because of gerrymandering. Partisan redistricting – gerrymandering … is a game played by both parties. Check out New York, California, and Illinois, to name a few.

Redistricting is not the reason for Republican victories across the nation. It all depends on how the independents break – and how many Democrats voters will defect. As long as independents are the largest block of voters, neither the Democrats nor the Republicans can win on their base alone.

Melber invited Moore to return after the election to see how his predictions worked out. I would love to see it, but I am not convinced Moore will show up for his dinner of crow.

So, there ‘tis.
