Is federal income tax the ultimate rip-off that Americans have been conned into following by the government and the media? Does the Constitution require Americans to pay tax on their income to the federal government? And can you stop paying federal income tax without being punished for it by the federal government? These questions were discussed in an eye-opening interview on Clayton Morris’s podcast Redacted last week.

The official X page of Redacted posted the interview with Peymon Mottahedeh, Founder and President of Freedom Law School, on April 2. An immigrant from a Jewish Iranian family, who moved to the United States in 1977 when he was just 14, Mottahedeh told Morris that he realized in his college years that America was no longer the land of the free and home of the brave. Mottahedeh explained how the federal government has increasingly enslaved Americans over the decades with the Democrats and Republicans in the government serving as components of same oppressive system.

To break from this unofficial dictatorship by the federal government, there is only one effective and non-violent way – defunding the federal agencies via a nationwide tax strike, i.e. stop paying federal taxes. Mottahedeh drew parallels between the founding fathers’ decision to stop paying taxes to the King of England to break free from their slavery and today’s America where people pay the federal government.

When asked by Morris about his history of not filing federal income tax for over 30 years, Mottahedeh showed a copy of the Internal Revenue Code and explained that technically the only Americans who fall under the federal tax jurisdiction are the residents of the District of Columbia – the Washington D.C. The rest of American citizens are not legally required to pay federal income tax. Mottahedeh went on explain in layman’s terms what really makes taxpayers lose money in federal income taxes and how they can break free from it.

Peymon Mottahedeh’s interview on Redacted is nothing less than mind-blowing or an eye-opener to millions and millions of Americans who pay the federal government income taxes under the fear that they may go to prison for not doing so. Even stranger is the fact, as Mottahedeh mentioned during the course of the interview, that he has not gotten any media attention all these years. As he told, and what most conservatives know, the mainstream media sources in this country are not the friends of the people. And so when a person like Mottahedeh defeats the Big Government, media ignores him so as to keep the rest of the Americans unaware of his victories. The victory of one patriotic person can inspire a revolution of constitutional freedom from the slavery of authoritative overreach.

Mottahedeh has been targeted with criminal investigations over his refusal to pay federal income tax and says he is more than willing to face the IRS in the court and defeat them like he has done before. Mottahedeh also appeared on Lara Logan’s show last month to talk about defying federal income taxes.
