Media flips on Russian narrative for Biden

For more than four years, the news media has been carrying the Russian collusion conspiracy theory against President Trump.  They were accusing Trump of being too cozy with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin – a bromance, they called it.  Trump was called an “asset” and an “agent” of Russia.  They accused him of using the presidency to advance real estate deals in Russia – although the Trump Organization had no deal in Russia – and terminated one that was in the early stages of negotiation when Trump won the 2016 election.

For two years, Democrats and their left-wing media mouthpieces carried the fake Russian collusion conspiracy theory – that the Trump campaign had conspired with Russian meddling in the 2020 election – only to have it totally debunked by Special Counsel Robert Mueller after a $35 million investigation.  The base storyline was that Trump was soft on Russia – even though Trump had arguably been tougher on the Kremlin than all the past presidents since Ronald Reagan.

With President Biden now in office, one might expect the White House to get tough on Putin to make up for Trump’s laxness.  And you would expect Putin to take a harder approach since he no longer had a supposed friend in the White House.

Weeell … that is not what happened.

One of the first things Biden did was to approve the gas pipeline from Russia to Germany – a NATO nation that expects the United States to protect them from … Russia.  Trump had strongly opposed the pipeline.  Biden’s decision gave Russia a huge customer – propping up its fossil fuel-based economy.

That was the fuel that the United States could have sold to Germany.  But that was when we were an energy-independent nation under Trump.  That was before Biden reversed policies and shut down pipelines and forced America to again depend on foreign sources of oil – and causing a dramatic inflationary increase in gas prices.

Putin is not praising Biden as a man with whom he can work.  That means Putin now has a President he can roll – much like the Taliban rolled him.  And the radicals in his Democratic Party have rolled him.  Like the Chinse have rolled him.  And who has not?  Or will not?

If the left-wing media had standards and principles, they would be whopping and hollering about Biden’s coziness with Russia and China.  They would be pouncing on Hunter’s and the President’s business dealings in both countries as evidence that Biden is an “asset” or “agent” of those authoritarian regimes.

Not only are they not holding to the same principles, but they are also hypocritically flipping for Biden.  Ponder closely what some of those left-wing talking-heads are reporting.  We have covered what they are not saying, but what they ARE saying is nothing less than shocking.

Pay close attention.  In reporting the optimistic words of Putin about Biden, the new media is crediting Biden with …  you ready? … reducing the chill of the icy relationship that existed during the Trump administration.  WHAT?  They have suddenly decided that Trump was tough – in fact, too tough – on Russia.  And it is Biden’s concessions to Russia – without consideration of Hunter’s questionable business deals – that is improving the relationship.

Using the same logic, you could say that Biden eased tensions with the Taliban and al Qaeda by conceding Afghanistan to them.  If Biden eases any more tensions with adversaries, the United States will not even be a second-tier country.

So, there ‘tis.
