I suppose if a car manufacturer and an insurance company can take on President Lincoln’s name, so can anyone else. But, it rises to the height of offense when it is used by a group of political activists who use it as a shield behind which they pursue policies that would have been repugnant to the first Republican President – especially when you consider that they are peddling dishonesty in the name of “Honest Abe.”
Now, if you are not familiar with the Lincoln Project, it is a collection of one-time Republicans and self-proclaimed conservatives whose hatred for President Trump has led them to desert their party and their alleged political philosophy. They claim that they are still Republican and conservative. That is the first dishonesty.
They took Lincoln’s name as an implication that they still align with the GOP—just not with Trump. Oh, they may have aligned with the GOP in the past – and perhaps even espoused conservative principles on occasion – but they are neither today, and perhaps never were.
In most cases, they are today what they always were – Washington establishmentarians who travel on the prevailing political winds like dandelion seeds. They are apostates … false flaggers.
For the most part, the Lincoln Project is composed of people whose names were never known outside of the D.C. circles until they became favorites on MSNBC and CNN. They volunteered to be the useful idiots for the radical left. That is not what true conservatives do.
Among the founders of the Lincoln Project are such hitherto unknows as:
George Conway — whose only claim to fame was being the husband of White House advisor Kellyanne Conway and not securing the job he wanted in the Trump administration.
Reed Galen – an independent political strategist with fewer and fewer Republican clients.
Steve Schmidt – the previously obscure acid-tongued advisor to the late Senator John McCain.
John Weaver – another McCain alum who also consulted for the Democratic Party.
Rick Wilson — millionaire media buyer and anti-Trump book peddler, whose vicious tongue competes with Schmidt for vile commentary leadership.
Jennifer Horn – former chair of the New Hampshire Republican Party.
The founders of the Lincoln Project initially said that their goal was to defeat President Trump … period. It did not take long for their true colors to be seen. Put simply, it is a group dedicated to the defeat of the Republican party and conservative principles across the nation.
In a recent television interview, Horn revealed their purpose when she called for the defeat of every Republican in Congress – saying that “not a single (Republican) representative in D.C.” should be re-elected. She added that they were standing up for principles.
But what principles?
To find out, you just need to check out the radical left game book and platform. Galen – appearing on the same MSNBC show as Horn – laid out their goals that precisely corresponded to the radical left platform of the Democratic Party. He declared that there is “no future for the Republican Party” even after the election – and even if Trump is defeated. Galen argues that any post-Trump leaders would still be Trumpian.
For whatever the folks at the Lincoln Project claim to be – or have been – they are NOT Republicans. They are NOT conservatives. They have become an integral part of the progressive Democratic Party – and will continue in that role in the future. Golan even spoke of a strategic coalition with the Biden campaign.
According to a report in Axios – under the headline, “The Lincoln Project is becoming a media business – the group intends to carry on as a commercial business. They have signed with United Talent Agency to build their media platform. They are also developing business relationships with television networks, podcast distributors and publishing houses to monetarize their personalities and partisan perspective on issues.
They are taking their lead from former staffers in the Obama administration, who formed Crooked Media – which offers an array of communication services. And no, it was not Trump who came up with the name of their group.
Axios reports that the Lincoln Project “has transformed from an election-focused advertising PAC into a media company with millions of followers.”
As detailed in Axios, the group has several specific objectives for selling politics as entertainment. These include:
“The company is currently working with a documentarian and a motion picture producer to create a non-fiction film after the election.
It also attracted interest from TV studios looking to work with the Lincoln Project to help develop a “House of Cards”-like fiction series.
One source notes that a few linear TV networks have indicated interest in having Lincoln Project’s streaming show “LPTV” on their networks.
UTA has also signed the group to work with Fletcher and Co., a literary management company, to land book deals.”
Nothing they are proposing to do is illegal, of course. But it shows that they are now going to sellout any vestige of moral integrity and political philosophy for the big bucks by locking their business interest in with the progressive community. Since most of the other media platforms – news, entertainment and publishing – are left leaning, they will undoubtedly get a great reception from the comrades-in-arms.
It is their hope that they can disprove Abraham Lincoln’s belief that you cannot fool all the people all the time.
So, there ’tis.
