Legendary Navy Admiral on China: We had a “Holy S—” Moment!

China’s continual theft of US intellectual property has China’s technical and defense capabilities  quickly approaching – and sometimes surpassing our own, claims a report from the nonpartisan Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). , a situation representing what retired Navy SEAL Admiral William McRaven called a “holy s—” moment for the US.

China has already surpassed us in terms of 5G commercialization.

The situation with China should be a “Sputnik” moment for the US, said McRaven, referring to the Cold War space race with Russia. “We need to make sure that the American public knows that now is the time to do something” about China’s R&D developments.

The CFR’s report portrays China as the most significant threat to the US, citing not only its massive military (two million active personnel) and technological advances but also its hacking capabilities and its aggression in the South China Sea.

And remember – all of these resources are controlled by China’s Communist Party.

William McRaven is a legendary Navy SEAL Admiral who was involved in the capture of Saddam Hussein and the rescue of Captain Phillips from Somali pirates. He led Special Operations Command during the 2011 mission that killed Osama bin Laden in Pakistan. Today, he teaches national security at the University of Texas.

Editor’s note: Hopefully Punching Bag Post readers already understand why Trump is beating the crap out of China with tariffs.  China’s products are cheap but they require anyone who produces there to give up their intellectual property to get the efficiencies.

Read some of the other PBP articles on China from the last year. Do you really want China to be in a position of power over the free world? ‘Holy S—” indeed!
