Leaks by Senior Officials Reinforce the Public Distrust in DOJ

The aggressive attempts of the Department of Justice (DOJ) to undermine President Trump’s reelection have fallen flat against the MAGA movement that saw a big victory in November. In an apparent attempt at damage control, the DOJ’s Office of Inspector General (OIG) has now revealed that three of its officials leaked “non-public” investigation information to media right before the an unspecified election.

On Monday (December 30), the OIG posted a one-page investigative summary of its probe into complaints against politically motivated leaks about “ongoing matters” to select reporters shortly before an election. The leaks led to the publication of two news articles just days before the election.

The OIG summary of the probe stated that three senior former DOJ officials were found responsible for the leaks in violation of the department’s policies. The three unnamed officials were not working at the DOJ anymore when the OIG contacted them for an interview. The three either didn’t respond to the OIG correspondence or declined to be interviewed. The matter has been referred to the Office of the Deputy Attorney General.

With the trust in federal agencies hitting a historic low, the DOJ currently is one of the most publicly distrusted federal authorities as reported in Townhall (November 26). Conservatives are very aware of this distrust since the DOJ has repeatedly been shown to favor the left-aligned deep state. Leaking information to sway election outcomes is one of the many ways the DOJ has worked to undermine the conservative movement in the country. Newsweek acknowledged this partisan distrust of the DOJ in its recent story about the leaks in question:

Specifically, the DOJ has come under scrutiny from some Republicans who have accused it and other federal law enforcement agencies of weaponizing their authority and using it against President-elect Donald Trump.

Earlier in December, the OIG released a damning report about the FBI’s role in the January 6, 2021 events. As reported in The Western Journal, the OIG report admitted that the FBI had more than two dozen “confidential human sources” among the January 6 protesters on the Capitol grounds. The details revealed:

There were a total of 26 confidential human sources on the ground on Jan. 6. Of that group, four entered the Capitol and an additional 13 entered the restricted area around the building.

Reacting to the revelation, legal analyst and commentator Jonathan Turley questioned the prosecutorial process of hundreds of January 6 protesters in the light of this previously undisclosed information by the DOJ.

It’s interesting that the Department of Justice is seemingly admitting the political actions targeting conservatives and violations of its own policies right before Trump’s upcoming inauguration as the next President. Could this be an attempt to come off as fair and ready to work neutrally in the Trump administration? More importantly, are these acknowledgments enough to restore the public trust in the DOJ or do we need to see serious accountability and dig deeper into what still lies beneath the surface?

    Hey Dumpster,

If you are going to publish dates, publish not just the month and day, but also include the year!!!

Your picture is of Jeff Sessions who has not been in the DOJ for years. I suspect this is an old as mold no-news article. Current DOJ leader is Merrick Garland. Update your records.

Wasn’t Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III, a Republican that Trump appointed? A Trump “friend?” Now’s he’s a Dempsey top ten wanted poster? Wow, a guy whose family came on the Mayflower, names for a founding father of the South, and another Father of the South, is the poster child for DOJ weaponization? I would think even the stupidest of Pakistani’s would know that.

Trump hired him in 2017 with all sorts of laudatory praise, fired him in a bucket of brimstone in 2018. And then got primaried by Trump for……wait for it….wait for it….. Tommy Tuberville, how did that work out? Under “where is he now,” it’s hard to find Sessions…… That’s what you get for being Trump’s friend. Chaos. Selling your soul or else.

Once again dredging the dumpster, Dempsey has come up with more spin, more lies, attempting to turn American against American for his Muslim Pakistani pleasure and perversion.

This time he notes “attempts of the Department of Justice (DOJ) to undermine President Trump’s reelection” because the DOJ OIG “three of its officials leaked “non-public” investigation information to media right before the an unspecified election.” Two newspapers published stories based on the leaks. Must have been juicy. Three leaks, two stories, oh my. He even uses Republican toad in disgrace Jeff Sessions as his poster child for weaponization.

He claims: “DOJ has repeatedly been shown to favor the left-aligned deep state. See picture of Jeff Sessions, scion of the South. Leaking information to sway election outcomes is one of the many ways the DOJ has worked to undermine the conservative movement in the country.” He has no evidence, has never proven this. Most important, he uses unsubstantiated past acts to have you judge his present accusations.

Do you really believe the DOJ is totally left biased, that Trump was completely ineffective at changing any of that throughout his first term, and this time — he will do better? Want to buy a bridge?

Here’s a perfect Dempsey spin: “Specifically, the DOJ has come under scrutiny from some Republicans who have accused it and other federal law enforcement agencies of weaponizing their authority and using it against President-elect Donald Trump.” Wow, and “some Republicans” think the world is flat too. Dempsey’s guys, Comer and Jordan, and “some” other rabid-right Republicans have taken four years, millions of taxpayer’s hard-earned dollars, and after all that, they have zero indictments, convictions, and just a bunch of stories on FOX, just like these terrible Dempsey stories.

He then regales with the December story of the FBI having 26 CI’s in the crowd at the Capitol saying they were targeting conservatives. Apparently a good target in this case EXCEPT to The Dumpster. I mean it was a crime in process, right? Or is it OK to break into the Capitol to take a shit in a hallway? Reminds me of this story……

Read for yourself how much Dempsey spins to help you hate us, and others like Sessions and Cheney and the others branded “RINOS.” He’s from Pakistan, a terrorist Muslim nation, he knows America.

Tom, I really don’t believe people are as braindead or stupid to not know a year date of anything that happened. You are calling all of us stupid. Look in a mirror, if that’s what you tried to do. God, some people! That article is NOT old news. It is on-going or don’t you know that? You are only trying to completely and underhandly discredit an editor of which you are not one. His name is not dumpster. If you think he is a dumpster, then you are in that dumpster! Reflect on that! You see, that is how most of us think of you now.
