
<p>The senior management at JP Morgan knew about Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trade of minors and even joked about it, including one instance when they laughed about him “being out with 16-year-old Miley Cyrus.” </p>



<p>These and more details have been revealed in new court documents from current lawsuits by different parties.</p>



<p>One of the lawsuits, filed by the government of the United States Virgin Islands (USVI) last December, accuses JP Morgan and Deutsche Bank of facilitating Epstein’s sex trafficking of minor girls by turning a blind eye to his criminal activities. </p>



<p>The lawsuit was then amended to include the accusation that JP Morgan actually obstructed investigations into Epstein and his relationship with the bank.</p>



<p>Documented supporting the USVI claims include records of internal emails by executives at JP Morgan mentioning Epstein’s activities with young girls. One of the emails by Mary Erdoes – chief executive of JP Morgan’s Asset &; Wealth division – was cited in <em>Daily Mail</em> as it mentioned singer and actress Miley Cyrus when she was 16:</p>



<p><em>In 2008, for example, Mary Erdoes received an email asking her whether Epstein was at an event ‘with Miley</em> Cyrus.’</p>



<p>The lawsuit claims that big sums of money were paid by some 20 people via JP Morgan for sex services of trafficked victims, including payments made after Epstein’s conviction in 2008. As the request by JP Morgan to dismiss the case was rejected last month, a federal judge has now ordered the bank’s CEO, Jamie Dimon, to be deposed for two days.</p>



<p>In a parallel lawsuit, a woman going by Jane Doe 1 has named a number of people as complicit in Epstein’s international sex trafficking operation. Among them are Les Wexner – billionaire businessman and founder of Victoria&#8217;s Secret and Bath &; Body Works – and JP Morgan’s former CEO Jes Staley, who is credited with making JP Morgan an LGBT-friendly company. </p>



<p>According to court documents, Staley exchanged over a thousand emails with Epstein from his JP Morgan email account and also visited Epstein’s private island.</p>
