
<p>In a recent interview, Molly McNearney, the wife and senior writer/executive producer for late-night comedian(?) Jimmy Kimmel, inadvertently revealed the reasons ABC was correct in pulling him off the air – and wrong in reinstating his show.</p>



<p>By way of background: The specific reason for pulling Kimmel off the air was his offensive and dishonest comments regarding the assassination of conservative icon Charlie Kirk—claiming that the killer was “one of them”, a MAGA guy. ; Of course that was totally untrue – a huge lie. ; (I wonder if his wife wrote that part of the monologue.)</p>



<p>But that was only the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back. ; Among the underlying reasons for cancelling the show were Kimmel’s poor ratings, high costs (big money for both Jimmy and Mrs. Kimmel), and an extreme political bias that was running afoul of many viewers. ; After almost 23 years, Kimmel’s monologues and guests were getting stale – as were those of the other late-night comics.</p>



<p>ABC put the show back on the air &#8212; caving under enormous pressure from the left-wing political, news and entertainment establishment. ; The reaction from the left was understandable. ; Kimmel was not a late-night comedian in the tradition of Johnny Carson – for whom humor was the first priority. ; Kimmel weaponized comedy as a propaganda vehicle against President Trump and the entire Republican Party. ; He was a mainstay propagandist for Democrats and the left-wing establishment. ; He was their guy.</p>



<p>Rather than making comedy his first priority, Kimmel put political bias ahead of all other considerations – fairness, professionalism, and the network’s policies and interests. ; This is something a general audience network should not – and cannot – allow. ; ; The proof is in the ratings. ; (Which have not improved despite the massive amount of publicity Kimmel received over his temporary removal from the airwaves.)</p>



<p>Even worse was the fact that Kimmel and his wife were a team &#8212; essentially a very high-paid propaganda team for the radical left. ; ; He read the material on camera that she wrote in the back office as the head writer. ; As executive producer, she was also responsible for the selection of guests. ;</p>



<p>How do we know about her obsession and how it influenced “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”? ; She poured it all out in an emotionally frazzled interview with the left-wing “We Can Do Hard Things” podcast.</p>



<p>According to McNearney, she made it a habit to shoot off endless emails to Trump-supporting family and friends &#8212; imploring them not to vote for him. ;  ; ;She was behaving like a woman possessed – suffering from a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome. ;</p>



<p>She said that she was “betrayed” by her friends and family members – as if they were obligated or pledged to be loyal to her narrow political views. ; She said her emails were ignored by 90 percent of the recipients &#8212; but that she received “insane” replies from the few. ; (So, in her mind, you are “insane” if you disagree with her extreme anti-Trump, anti-Republican views. ; Who is really the insane one here?)</p>



<p>McNearney claims to have been badly hurt by the reactions to her barrage of emails. ; So much so that she cut ties with both family and friends. “I unfortunately have kind of lost relationships with people in my family because of it,” she lamented. ; Now she says she aligns with family and friends who agree with her politically.</p>



<p>(I have to digress here. ; I have relatives and very good friends who hate Trump. In some cases, we have never agreed on politics for decades. ; But&#8230; I have never had a broken friendship or been alienated from family members over political opinions. ; Not even in these days of divisiveness and emotional overcharge. ; And yes &#8230; we even discuss and debate politics – with civility and respect, and a bit of humor. ; To me, there is something emotionally wrong with folks who break off from friends and family over political opinion. Whew! ; Got that off my chest.)</p>



<p>It was in that interview that McNearney made a very important inadvertent &#8212; but very telling &#8212; admission. ; She was angry with her family members and friends because they did not support her husband, <strong>who was “out there fighting this man {Trump}”. ; </strong> ; ;There you have it. She and her husband were out there in full battle gear fighting Trump – using the show as their weapon. ; The so-called comedy show was merely a front. ; Their <strong>primary mission</strong> was to defeat Trump. ; McNearney underscored her bias saying that in view of her husband’s feud with Trump, “them [her friends and family] voting for Trump is them not voting for my husband and me &#8230;”.</p>



<p>In an example of her irrational mindset, she said, “it is not just Republican versus Democrat with me” – and then immediately proceeded to rampage against the entire Republican Party. ; She admitted to being “in constant conflict and angry all the time” at family members “for helping to elect Trump” – arrogantly calling them “deliberately misinformed.” ;</p>



<p>It is disturbing that a person so obviously unhinged – by her own admission – should have such enormous influence on what the American people see and hear. ; Politically, the Jimmy-Molly partnership is a serious cancer on television journalism and entertainment. ;</p>



<p>McNearney’s interview with “We Can Do Hard Things” seemed more like a conversation that would take place in a psychiatrist’s office &#8212; and probably should have. ; It came across as a cry for help. ;</p>



<p>In view of McNearney’s recent public comments, ABC should revisit its decision and again remove “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” from the airwaves. ; Or at least they should rename it as “Jimmy Kimmel Lies!”</p>
