Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign paid a tech company to hack servers belonging to former President Donald Trump, claims a court filing submitted last week by Special Counsel John Durham (pictured above left).
Durham, who was tapped in 2019 to investigate the origins of the FBI’s Trump-Russia probe, says the federal government has proof that a government-affiliated tech executive in cahoots with the Clinton campaign was able to monitor internet activity at Trump’s primary residences, the White House, and Trump Tower during the 2016 election and throughout his presidency.
The unnamed tech company “had come to access and maintain dedicated servers” for Trump, reads the filing, “as part of a sensitive arrangement whereby it provided DNS [domain name services] resolution services to the EOP [Executive Office of the President].”
“Tech Executive-1 and his associates exploited this arrangement by mining the EOP’s DNS for the purpose of gathering derogatory information about Donald Trump,” wrote Durham, adding that his filing offers “indisputable evidence” the Clinton campaign funded a spying operation against Trump.
“This is a scandal far greater in scope and magnitude than Watergate and those who were involved in and knew about this spying operation should be subject to criminal prosecution,” said Trump on Saturday. “In a stronger period of time in our country, this crime would have been punishable by death.”
The unnamed tech executive is believed to be Rodney Joffe, internet data expert and founder of UltraDNS. UltraDNS, sometimes referred to as the ‘phone book of the Internet,’ was the first cloud-based company to market domain name services and as a result had access to the browsing history of millions of people.
Durham’s court filing targets Michael Sussmann (pictured above right), a former lawyer for the Clinton campaign who is said to have worked with a tech company to produce rumors about Trump and a Russian bank. He now stands charged of making false statements to the FBI regarding both his work for the Clinton campaign and the fictitious relationship between Trump and Russia.
Durham’s filing “definitively shows that the Hillary Clinton campaign directly funded and ordered its lawyers at Perkins Coie to orchestrate a criminal enterprise to fabricate a connection between President Trump and Russia,” argues Kash Patel, chief investigator for former House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-CA). “Per Durham, this arrangement was put in motion in July of 2016, meaning the Hillary Clinton campaign and her lawyers masterminded the most intricate and coordinated conspiracy against Trump when he was both a candidate and later President of the United States while simultaneously perpetuating the bogus Steele Dossier hoax.”
Also charged in Durham’s filing for making false statements to the FBI are:
- Kevin Clinesmith, a former FBI lawyer who has already admitted to changing an email that aided the FBI’s ability to monitor Trump campaign aide Carter Page. Clinesmith was sentenced to one year of probation.
- Igor Danchenko, a Russian analyst, pleaded not guilty after he was accused of lying about the source of information that he provided to British ex-spy Christopher Steele for his infamous dossier on Trump.
