Joe Biden Darkly Amused By Fentanyl Deaths Under Trump
One of the contrasts that the liberal left loves to make when comparing Joe Biden to Donald Trump is that they say at least Biden is “caring” and “compassionate.” That certainly is NOT what was on display when the current President laughed while talking about fentanyl deaths that occurred under President Trump.
Biden laughed and appeared to trivialize the deaths of two men who died of fentanyl overdoses, all in an effort to bash Republicans.
Speaking at the House Democratic Caucus Issues Conference, Biden bashed Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (MGT) (R-Ga.), saying that if the Republican Party elects a few more lawmakers like her, then the majority of Republicans will be “running” to embrace the Democratic Party.
“Isn’t she amazing?” Biden mocked. “Oof.”
The President immediately followed up by invoking Michigan mother, Rebecca Kiessling, whose two sons — Caleb, 20, and Kyler, 18 — died of fentanyl overdoses. Kiessling testified before the House Homeland Security Committee, where she pleaded with lawmakers to increase border security and narcotics interception.
In his speech, Biden made sure to emphasize that Kiessling’s sons died when Donald Trump was President, and not himself.
“I’ve read she was very specific recently, saying that a mom — a poor mother who lost two kids to fentanyl, that I killed her sons. Well, the interesting thing is that fentanyl they took came during the last administration,” Biden said, letting out a laugh.
Apparently, this was meant to be another jab at MTG referring to accusations that the Georgia Congresswoman made. CNN accused her of blaming Biden for the deaths of Kiessling’s sons.
Of COURSE, there was a MORE fentanyl that came through on “Beijing Joe” Biden’s watch . . . a LOT more.
Well maybe MTG should stop twisting facts, or at least get her facts and timelines straight! Personally, I think MTG does more to harm the GOP than to help it. She and Trump both can go, and I will not cry over it!!!

IMO, MTG is just not professional independent of her crazy views. She spews disinformation, is rude, dresses inappropriately (not that there’s anything wrong with looking like a pimp) and just should be voted out, sanctioned, censored, removed from committees, whatever. Sometimes it is hard to deal with the nutjobs, you just want to shake your head and laugh contemptuously at the idiocy . Yet it is serious, it should never be laughed off in public, and Joe should have known better. It’s just so hard not to shake your head and sigh a stunted laugh. It seemed more a laugh of disbelief at the incompetence of this woman only surpassed by her willingness to open her mouth and show us what an idiot she is than an out n out belly roll.
Yes, Fentanyl abuse is raging. It raged under the four years of Trump, it rages on, even worse, under Biden. Using overdose as the metric, synthetic opioids as the drug (fentanyl), and percentage increase as the data point —- under the four years of Trump the rate of increase by year was 2017: 47% then 10%, 16%, and a whopping 55% in 2020. Biden in 2021:25% and last year, squeaking by Trump’s record at 56% increase.
Clearly, neither party has developed an adequate strategy to stop the abuse.
Supposedly, there was a softening in the 2h2022, time will tell, but when Trump left office, the rates were about three times over the totals for 2016. Under Biden, the 2022 rates are over five times higher than 2016. And no, the three times versus five times, given the total numbers does not mean Biden wins. It really means both Presidents did not stem the increases; their programs failed and continue to fail.
Trump in his last year, added over 37.000 deaths to the 2016 total. Biden, over 90,000 more deaths. Under both Presidents, fentanyl death rates rose EXPONENTIALLY, thus the Biden totals are larger, the percentages become muted. Trump numbers show the opposite where the totals are muted but the percentages are larger.
I could continue to spin talk using totals, percentages, and even jump to Reganesque rate of increase decreases, etc. but IMO, the data shows that both Presidents failed, the numbers are both too high and growing to fast at unprecedented tragic rates. Both Trump and BIden have numbers well past any level of acceptance. Whatever they have done, are doing, they should do something else because it ain’t working.
