Jeb Bush attacked from the right – as expected

<p>Presidential hopeful Jeb Bush finds himself in the unenviable position of being the perceived frontrunner in the upcoming primaries&period; &nbsp&semi;While one might think frontrunner status is a good thing&comma; conservative media outlets who support more conservative candidates are out in force attacking Bush from a variety of angles&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<div><&sol;div>&NewLine;<div>For example&comma; Real Clear Politcs is covering author Peter Schweitzer &lpar;&&num;8220&semi;Clinton Cash&&num;8221&semi;&rpar;&comma; &nbsp&semi;highlighting his &&num;8220&semi;investigation&&num;8221&semi; into Jeb Bush&comma; and quotes him as saying &&num;8220&semi;we are in the middle of the investigation&period; I would tell you that if there was nothing there&comma; we would have stopped the investigation&&num;8221&semi;&period; &nbsp&semi;Ok&&num;8230&semi;<&sol;div>&NewLine;<div><&sol;div>&NewLine;<div>Breitbart has made a point of &nbsp&semi;highlighting Bush&&num;8217&semi;s stance on amnesty&comma; an unpopular one among hard core conservatives&comma; also covered by the Washington Times&period; &nbsp&semi;<&sol;div>&NewLine;<div><&sol;div>&NewLine;<div>RedState&comma;com just published an article called &&num;8220&semi;Jeb Bush&colon; worst of the worst for 2016&&num;8221&semi; with the subtitle &&num;8220&semi;New poll rates him worse than Hillary and Biden&&num;8221&semi; to persuade its readers how Bush is not the choice of true conservatives&period; &nbsp&semi;<&sol;div>&NewLine;<div><&sol;div>&NewLine;<div>And of course&comma; Newsbusters&period;org has published the rants of liberal pundit Chris Matthews who laments that Bush agrees with his brother and father on some issues&period;<&sol;div>&NewLine;<div><&sol;div>&NewLine;<div>This is entirely expected at this point since if any of these attacks stick and he starts to fall&comma; candidates more appealing to the far right will gain momentum&period; &nbsp&semi;History supports this perspective&comma; one would never have expected Bill Clinton to become President at the beginning of the Democratic primaries in 1992&period; &nbsp&semi;Same with Ronald Reagan in 1980&period; &nbsp&semi;In each case there were more wellknown candidates&period; &nbsp&semi;<&sol;div>&NewLine;<div><&sol;div>&NewLine;<div>You can read the examples by clicking on the links below&comma; but if you are a Jeb Bush supporter&comma; you probably shouldn&&num;8217&semi;t worry much at this point&period;<&sol;div>&NewLine;<div><&sol;div>&NewLine;<div>We at Punching Bag Post are rooting for Jeb because we think he will add entertainment value to the upcoming election season&period; &nbsp&semi;While we sit back and watch the antics we would take this opportunity to include a quote from long ago&period;<&sol;div>&NewLine;<div><&sol;div>&NewLine;<div>&&num;8220&semi;&&num;8230&semi;It is not the critic who counts&semi; not the man who points out how thestrong man stumbles&comma; or where the doer of deeds could have done them better&period; &nbsp&semi;The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena&comma; whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood&semi; who strives valiantly&semi; who errs&comma; who comes short again and again&comma; because there is no effort without error and shortcoming&semi; but who does actually strive to do the deeds&semi; who knows great enthusi<br &sol;>&NewLine;asms&comma; the great devotions&semi; who spends himself in a worthy cause&semi; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement&comma; and who at the worst&comma; if he fails&comma; at least fails while daring greatly&comma; so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat&&num;8230&semi;&&num;8221&semi;<&sol;div>&NewLine;<div><&sol;div>&NewLine;<div>Theodore Roosevelt in Paris&comma; France&comma; April 23&comma; 1910<&sol;div>&NewLine;<div>&NewLine;<div><&sol;div>&NewLine;<div><&sol;div>&NewLine;<&sol;div>&NewLine;
