Jeb Bush attacked from the right – as expected
Presidential hopeful Jeb Bush finds himself in the unenviable position of being the perceived frontrunner in the upcoming primaries. While one might think frontrunner status is a good thing, conservative media outlets who support more conservative candidates are out in force attacking Bush from a variety of angles.
For example, Real Clear Politcs is covering author Peter Schweitzer (“Clinton Cash”), highlighting his “investigation” into Jeb Bush, and quotes him as saying “we are in the middle of the investigation. I would tell you that if there was nothing there, we would have stopped the investigation”. Ok…
Breitbart has made a point of highlighting Bush’s stance on amnesty, an unpopular one among hard core conservatives, also covered by the Washington Times.
RedState,com just published an article called “Jeb Bush: worst of the worst for 2016” with the subtitle “New poll rates him worse than Hillary and Biden” to persuade its readers how Bush is not the choice of true conservatives.
And of course, Newsbusters.org has published the rants of liberal pundit Chris Matthews who laments that Bush agrees with his brother and father on some issues.
This is entirely expected at this point since if any of these attacks stick and he starts to fall, candidates more appealing to the far right will gain momentum. History supports this perspective, one would never have expected Bill Clinton to become President at the beginning of the Democratic primaries in 1992. Same with Ronald Reagan in 1980. In each case there were more wellknown candidates.

We at Punching Bag Post are rooting for Jeb because we think he will add entertainment value to the upcoming election season. While we sit back and watch the antics we would take this opportunity to include a quote from long ago.
