&NewLine;<p>The answer to the headline question is &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;yes” if you believe her own words – and those of her husband&period; The married co-hosts of MS NOW’s &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;Morning Joe&comma;” Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski&comma; are complaining that President Trump’s Voter ID bill will disenfranchise millions of American – especially women and minorities who just cannot seem to lay hands on a simple photo ID&period; &lpar;Personally&comma; I see it as a huge insult to the intelligence of women and minorities&rpar;&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>Joe&comma; in a classic moment of genius&comma; declared that even his co-host Mika would not be able to vote because she has &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;no idea” where her birth certificate is&period; This from the guy married to the woman who pulls down tens of millions of dollars a year&comma; jets around the country&comma; and struts into 30 Rock every morning flashing the photo ID&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>But suddenly&comma; when it comes to the most sacred act in a democracy &&num;8212&semi; casting a ballot—Mika becomes a helpless waif&period; It is voter suppression&comma; they claim &&num;8212&semi; wringing their hands as if it is the 1950s in the Democrat-controlled Dixie&comma; with Black folks being turned away in droves&period; Give me a break&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>Brzezinski— supposedly smart&comma; sophisticated and definitely fabulously wealthy—is the poster child for the left’s ridiculous argument that requiring an ID to vote is some insurmountable barrier&period; Meanwhile&comma; 36 states already require some form of ID at the polls&comma; including strict photo ID laws in places like Georgia&comma; Texas&comma; Indiana&comma; Wisconsin&comma; Florida&comma; and Ohio&period; And guess what&quest; The sky has not fallen&period; Turnout hasn’t plummeted&period; In fact&comma; the percentage of women and minorities voting has increased in recent years&period; The only thing that’s been &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;suppressed” are the fraudsters favorite loopholes&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>Here is the dirty little secret&comma; but the dynamic duo will not admit it&period; Voter ID is not about suppressing votes&period; It is about <strong>preventing<&sol;strong> fraud&period; It is a prophylactic measure&period; And yes&comma; despite the Democrats’ endless chant that &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;voter fraud is a myth&comma;” it does exist&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>The Heritage Foundation’s database alone documents over 1&comma;500 proven cases in recent years&period; In 2022&comma; a Wisconsin election official was charged with absentee ballot fraud for faking military ballots&period; In Georgia&comma; canvassers were busted in 2024 for filing fake voter registrations&period; Iowa convicted a woman in 2024 of 52 counts of fraud for forging absentee ballots in her husband’s congressional race&period; Texas flagged over 2&comma;700 potential non-citizens on its rolls&period; Ohio found more than 1&comma;000 non-citizens illegally registered&comma; many of whom actually voted&period; California auditors discovered nearly 95&comma;000 deceased registrants still on the books&period; And dead voters&quest; They have been casting ballots for years—remember the Illinois election judge who voted for her deceased husband in 2016&quest; Or the Colorado woman who kept voting in her dead father’s name&quest;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>Millions of dead people and non-citizens linger on voter rolls across the country because lazy or complicit officials will not clean them up&period; Voter ID stops that cold&period; Showing an ID to vote is common sense—the same common sense we demand in so many other situations&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>So why do Scarborough&comma; Brzezinski&comma; and their Democrat pals fight tooth and nail against the most basic security measure&quest; Why the ridiculous sob stories about birth certificates and &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;millions” suddenly unable to vote&quest; Because secure elections threaten their power&period; When every vote is verified&comma; the game gets a lot harder to rig&period; And that&comma; dear readers&comma; is the real story behind the outrage&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>Mika and Joe can keep whining&period; The rest of us will keep demanding elections that are free&comma; fair—and actually honest&period; That means over IDs – among other safeguards&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;&NewLine;<p>So&comma; there &OpenCurlyQuote;tis&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
